Guy I used to work with had the same model as yours 40000 on the clock, belt snapped, cost him £400 to get fixed, just got a quote for the work on my old fiesta zetec i'm selling, £145 for belt and tensioner change, depends on where you get the work done that's from just my local garage.

Steve, how do you get the silver insert out without scratching it and taking rest of the gearstick to bits? I'm looking to replace mine - scratched to f*#k by previous owners ring finger!!!
