Ive made a tool for doing mine..... but do Renault actually have a tool for this..... ive never seen one or a copy listed.
Give the battery a good charge.....& see how it performs, if you've only just bought the car.... the battery's condition might not be great. Also the 6 month old one u say u put on.... did u charge it first?
Indeed it does sound like a weak battery. Also.... on the clio's..... when u initially crank it over, & the battery's weak.... it will crank for a few seconds.... but if the battery is that low the ignition relay switches off & kills the starter. This also happens if the car cranks for a while &...
If pedal was rock solid... either you are loosing the Vacuum to the servo..... or you have a faulty ABS pump & the solenoids are possibly jamming in it, causing you not to have any pedal movement.
Well as you say its a new battery..... you now need to look at a possible charging issue...... or a draining issue when the cars stood. As said check the voltage across the battery terminals when the engines running.... should be about 14.4 volts. Also.... ive had alternators where they will...
Could possibly be the electronic throttle body gone faulty....... this wouldnt have caused that huge bang though you were talking about.
Seeing as the revs are up & down.... you could do a visual check on the butterfly flap in the throttle body, by taking the air intake pipe off.... & just see...
quite simple really.... the seal is leaking........ maybe go back to your gearbox builder & get him to change it. tis possible the seal got nicked or damaged when putting it on.
Ive had 3 karcher's in about 20 years..... first one went for about 15 to 16 years before needing a repair.... similar fault to what happened to yours... mine popped a valve..... anyway somebody borrowed the machine without me knowing & killed it. So they replaced it with an entry level...
