Probably unburnt fuel entering the cat causing the sulphurous smell. That's most likely to be a coil or injector fault.

Just for archives sake this was the Lower Idler Pulley on the Aux belt.

Can anyone help diagnose this whining noise emanating from the Aux belt area? I realise it could one of many things running off it. The noise doesn't change or disappear when you turn the steering lock to lock or engaging the AC comp. It's literally come out the blue on Friday driving to work in...

As with all cars of this nature full electric mode seems pretty pointless. According to an Evo article McLaren claim it can drive in full electric mode up to 100 mph for 12 miles.

I did at first think he might have been talking about a McLaren trio of the F1, MP4-12C and P1 :o Anybody know who the guy is? I think it might be the family whose cars feature on Taxtherich100 YouTube channel.

I believe it's not active but definitely height adjustable, to put the car into race mode you have to be stationary, doing so lowers it by 50 mm.
