Not sure if anyone has an ideas of what this could be?
This all started after the alternator bracket broke and took out my cam belt, ended up getting full head re-build, new valves etc. When i came to collect the car the guy at the garage said all was OK apart from the computer had registered...
gonna get someone to check this out, is there a workshop manual or something I can get hold of that shows what it should be?
then I have to find somewhere over here to get them to check it
forgive me for being a dumb ass but how can cam timing reduce power output or am i opening a can of worms here? is there much room for adjustment on a standard 172 Ph1?
yeah cheers mate, a few ppl have said that. If i take it to just any garage will they know? We have a "european" car specialist locally but they deal in all makes. Does anyone have access to a workshop manual for this car?
hey man nice job, so close to that 200/ton, remove the spare wheel;) Do you know what other sensors were replaced other than the Lambda? what is the O2 sensor? Mine is making pretty much the same as yours did before the mods, guy said the Air/Fuel was all wrong.
wish i could get this kinda...
cool cheers mate, I will pop down to "repco" (like Halfords) and see if they have got em. Think I am gonna get big service done, fuel filter, K&N air filter, spark plugs.
what type of oil do you use?
I must say at 6ft 3, the interior/seats are pretty uncomfortable. My right knee has to rest on the door and the seats are a little too high.
but regardless of that I dont care, I forget all of this when I reach some twisties and the car comes alive. I also like the understated looks, I had...
yeah cheers for your response, The guy I bought the car off treated the car as his baby. Made sure that the cambelt was done by Renault main dealer using the "kit" inc water pump and tensioners. Of course that does not nessasirly mean it was done right;)
i guess that's an excuse for me to buy...
yeah i'd be happy with something around 160bhp stock, thats a nice result. Some people say replace Lambda sensor, some people tell me that lambda is ignored on WOT, so I reckon I am gonna go with the following and see where I am at
-get ecu read for any fault codes
-repalce lambda
-full...
mate nice cars, love the hidden pipes on the clios. I was a VW man too about 4 years back. had Mk2 G60 which was awesome!
Any plans for engine mods or just leaving standard?
LOL kinda makes you laugh when they sold the car as a 172! was this some mythical figure they pulled out of the air?
well here come the mods, this car is going to make 170hp, still feels quite quick though for what it is. I had a Golf G60 a few years back with 215bhp but it seems like ages...
