Never got to the bottom of it, replaced the lower wishbones, trackrods and bearings. Got sick of spending on it in the end after also having 3 gearboxes :( So traded it in and got £1750 against this

Good shout as the steering does seem very vague. I thought it may have been power steering related as sometimes it just seems to do whatever it wants,quite scary. Steering rack difficult to replace?

The 172 is becoming a nitemare to drive as it tracks all over the road, actually it already is a nitemare! Had it tracked,had the lower arm on the passenger side replaced as it was knackered is there anything else that i should look at? Thanks

My PH1 hit just above its reported bhp with a straight through exhaust,a CDA intake [i think thats what it is lol] and a group n remap. More importantly it drove 10x better on the road. Dont worry about the figures,if it feels better,it probably is.

Nope it was a 2nd hand box from one of their suppliers, they didnt want to know. Luckily its a 2nd car for me so i could afford to get it sorted elsewhere and drive my evil desiesel Alfa 159. Still hurt the wallet though. wouldnt let the garage anywhere near my car again.

Cant beat that lol, but had a good go.Gearbox 3 started leaking 5 miles from the garage. Took it back and they topped it up with oil, 20 miles later it killed the diff bearing and ate a drive shaft gator. Needless to say, i wont be using them again.

This time i went the official route and had a Renault supplied one. Spent a fortune on the 2nd one only to find out it had been poorly fitted with 3 of the locating dowels missing. You live and learn,wont go there again :dead: Cost £1006 fitted with a years guarentee on parts and labour so...

Would the speedo problem cause the oil leak?

Just checked under the car and there is transmission fluid on the ground!

Happened today on the way home from work, everything was fine and then the speedo stopped working and could hear a whining noise, are the 2 problems related? Thanks

Just goto a scrappy and pick one up.

Mine cost about £4.50 inc delivery off of ebay
