I've been waiting for a post like this, since the weather turned cold, it's been driving me mad (but not enough to spend circa £500 to replace). You've made my day, just ordered a pair from sgs-engineering. :clap:Yay!
I've had probably near on 30 cars in the last ten years including a citroen c1 and a stripped out nova so I am not overly fussy about interiors, but the renaults always feel a nice place to be and the vauxhalls have some of the most disgusting dash boards ever. Anyway, off topic, VXR faster in a...
The renault interior is much more aesthetically pleasing even if it is s**tty and plasticky, it still feels like a nice place to be. The vauxhall interior is probably much better quality but it still looks awful and dreary.
I like the new honda interiors and vauxhall have done a good job on the...
I suspect you'd have a fair chance in the twisties, otherwise probably not, unlikely that either of you would pull out a massive lead though unless your talking about risky motorway speeds.
I agree, if you can afford michelin's you'll not go far wrong.
There do seem to be a lot of people on cliosport that take the view that you are a danger to other road users if you drive on anything less than PE2's / PS3's though and there are plenty of other good choices at reasonable prices...
Ok right, my apologies then Adhall - I didn't see it!
I can't afford to run a bike and car myself at the moment but I am a biker at heart, can only hope his previous thread was meant in jest but doesn't sound like it was.
As a car driver / biker, I personally prefer that bikes get past me as...
To be fair it was a stupid comment though!
Not sure what to suggest on the tyre front but agree circa £150 per tyre, ouch! I've just ordered some of the hankook v12 k110 tyres and am hoping that they'll be alright?
Looking at prices on blackcircles in 205/40/17, i'd probably plump for the Toyo...
I put rainsport's all round on the last 172 and wasn't a huge fan, bit of torque steer and tramlined really badly, I swapped the brand new fronts over for pirelli p zero nero as soon as I could afford too and the problem went away. They were fine on the back though.
I'm not sure if they were...
Thanks Scott P.
You say they are good and you would buy them again, are they good enough that you do actually intend to fit them when they need replacing or do you plan to try something else?
I have to say that my current PE2's are probably as good a tyre as i've ever had fitted to any car...
The PE2's on my Trophy are nearing the end of their useful life.
I drive around 15k miles per annum with around 70 - 80% of that on A roads and dual carriageway at peak (slow) times of day, the rest of the time I like to have a bit of (safe) fun in the twisties but do not go in for any track...
Lots of scooby bits - turbo, injectors, exhaust, discs etc etc.

£50 for the lot.
Please PM if interested.
Hi Ian - An interesting thread, I look forward to reading more.
A bit off topic but just wanted to mention that I purchased some of your own grooved discs and pads (through scoobynet) and also a pair reconditioned brake calipers from you just over a year ago for my impreza and they were...
That's a very good point and I hadn't even been drinking last night!! :o
I guess I had misread another post! I was in the area (within half a mile at both times) but unfortunately not in a petrol blue car!
