New battery but no ignition lights or power to car.

Hi, thought battery had died as car did the click click no start routine. New battery in but now nothing. Except when I turn the key to its first point the alarm goes off for say 10 seconds but doesn't repeat. No power to windows, radio, clock etc. No lights on dash either. My ignition barrel...

    Airbag/Serv light

Thanks for that. Just an update, couldn't find anyone with clip so cut of original seat airbag connector and used a block connector instead. The driver side air bag wiring already had its connector removed and wires were soldered together. Now when ignition switched on serv and airbag light come...

    Airbag/Serv light

Hi, I know there are many posts on this but I'm still bamboozled! I've always had problems with these lights coming on but usually a quick fumble under both seats sorts it. Not now though. Car has been sitting up for nine months, damp and mouldy. Changed engine and gearbox so lots of pulling at...

    Head light washer

Hi. Can't get power to the head light washer pump. Swapped power supply from windscreen pump and a bumper jet worked so not the pump. All fuses are good. Car has been off the road for nine months and there was some mold and damp inside. I opened the six relays at back of uch and two were...

EML on with no power to starter.

Sorted. Not enough tea. Id loosened all the connectors on starter to clean them while engine was out but never tightened the solenoid to motor one. The eml light was because Id bunged the throttle position sensor into some gap and not the tps unit. Sorry bout that!!

EML on with no power to starter.

Hi. Had engine and box out to do belts and clutch. All back in but EML light is on and starter appears to have no power. I did all the work outside so water in electrics is possible (tried to keep dry). Hooked up to the code reader and all sensors appear to have a reading. Tried a jump lead from...

    Cam alignment tool

Thanks for all the help. Sorted now I think. Seems that even with the tool holding the two pulleys as I tightened them that they moved slightly. I had the tool (Renault one) as tight as I thought safe but I could see them move.

    Cam alignment tool

Hi. Does anyone know if the cam alignment tool should slot in without assistance when checking at tdc after cam belt change? Its so close as in doesnt look like its a tooth out. I can get it in with my hands. Normally that last sentence would be funny. Been at this for two days now. Thanks!

    Crank pulley bolt

Hi. Was searching for torque settings in forums for this bolt as I am replacing all belts and pulleys. Seems its a certain torque then an angle. Also suggested is 120nm (I think!). I dont have an angle gauge so I tried the 120nm. After about 100nm I felt the dreaded this is getting looser...

    MOT emissions fail!

Hi sorry misread the pic. Thought it was high hcs. Bit confused. Id always thought high co was because of rich mix but lambda implies lean mix. Lookin into to this for sure!

    MOT emissions fail!

Hi, what mileage is on it? I had similar issues recently but it wasnt the cat. The hcs disappeared when I put some Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabiliser in and the lean lambda reading which was 1.07 on mine dropped to 1.02 (pass) when I pasted up two small holes around a weld on the post cat silencer...

    Intermittent P0130

I dont think the post cat effects the eml. I always understood the two sensors to be the same but the shop I got my pre cat sensor from had a Bosch for the pre and an NGK for the post. Maybe try swapping them around anyway? Im not sure but Id think the pre cat stft would show if a leak before it...
