Sorted. Not enough tea. Id loosened all the connectors on starter to clean them while engine was out but never tightened the solenoid to motor one. The eml light was because Id bunged the throttle position sensor into some gap and not the tps unit. Sorry bout that!!

Thanks for all the help. Sorted now I think. Seems that even with the tool holding the two pulleys as I tightened them that they moved slightly. I had the tool (Renault one) as tight as I thought safe but I could see them move.

Hi. Does anyone know if the cam alignment tool should slot in without assistance when checking at tdc after cam belt change? Its so close as in doesnt look like its a tooth out. I can get it in with my hands. Normally that last sentence would be funny. Been at this for two days now. Thanks!

Hi. Was searching for torque settings in forums for this bolt as I am replacing all belts and pulleys. Seems its a certain torque then an angle. Also suggested is 120nm (I think!). I dont have an angle gauge so I tried the 120nm. After about 100nm I felt the dreaded this is getting looser...

Hi, what mileage is on it? I had similar issues recently but it wasnt the cat. The hcs disappeared when I put some Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabiliser in and the lean lambda reading which was 1.07 on mine dropped to 1.02 (pass) when I pasted up two small holes around a weld on the post cat silencer...

I dont think the post cat effects the eml. I always understood the two sensors to be the same but the shop I got my pre cat sensor from had a Bosch for the pre and an NGK for the post. Maybe try swapping them around anyway? Im not sure but Id think the pre cat stft would show if a leak before it...
