    Black 200

I saw a black one in the Trafford Centre a couple of weeks ago and I agree, it looked great, especially with the Recaros. However, black cars look good for about 10 minutes after you wash them and dirty after the first rain shower. At least the Clio is small enough to keep well waxed and...

    182 VS FRP

Everyday car - a disposable Clio. Weekend toy - FRP The FRP isn't going to lose much more money if you look after it. Steve

so my 197 went into the dealers....

As far as I know, dealers hate warranty work as they are only allowed to claem a certain amount of time to do each repair, set by the manufacturer. They only get the parts at cost too. You'd think Renault dealers would like it more than most though as it must make up 90% of their workload :D...

My trip to Renault today - contains Emotion

Arnold Clarke, Warrington carried out a "free" health check on my 182 Cup when it was in for a new front foglight a few years ago. They told me that, happily, the spare wheel still had plenty of tread on it. Last time I used that dealer. They offered my two new tyres at cost as way of...

Any 197 Issues? Have the Dealers (Warrington)Improved?

The mpg wouldn't be an issue. The Octavia would do the miles, the Clio would be a wife and fun car. Steve

Any 197 Issues? Have the Dealers (Warrington)Improved?

Hello again! I had a 182Cup a couple of years ago and loved it to bits. The only reason I sold it was as I had a co. car and one of our cars had to go. Unfortunately , we needed some cash so the Cup went rather tan my wife's A3. Well, the A3 is due to go and we both fancy a hot hatch to...

    buy replica or make replica

^^^^I agree What is the point? For a similar cost you could get a real car. And surely if you declare all the modifications, the insurance won't be much cheaper for a "replica". Plus, it must be embarrassing looking like you are driving a fast car only to struggle overtaking Micra's and...

    R27 14K

Well I'm going to test drive an F1. Might be back in a Clio (well strictly speaking it'll be my wife's car ;) ). Steve

    R27 14K

So will the cup have the nice seats as well as the improved suspension? As importantly, will it either add 15bhp or loose 100kg? Steve

Jumpy temperature dial on dash board

Yep, temperature sender. Took Renault 3 goes to fix mine even when I took in a printout of the fault from here as they "couldn't get the intermittent fault to happen from them". Pray your traction control doesn't go t!ts up, they never fixed mine even after a full diagnosis and part number...

    R27 14K

Re: 197 F1 @ sutton Park Arnold Clark are doing them at this price too. Cheap as Chips Why are they being given away? Are Renault clearing the decks for something else? Steve

    Has Renault Customer Service Improved?

And there lies the problem... The wife and I (it's her car really) are test driving a 197 F1 and a Civic Type R soon. We'll have to balance the fun with the anticipated ownership experiences. Steve
