While the Tibors were off the car I decided to get them refurbished. Well chuffed is an understatement!!

I have also pulled the trigger on a Zero point one shifter after I did some work on another Megane 265 last weekend. It pushed me over the edge. Absolute work of art. The contact from zero point one has been excellent. Soon as it arrives will get some pictures.

Anyway wheels are on 😍 Pretty much decided the track ones will be black too.

It arrived yesterday 😍 I thought about putting it in a display cabinet it looks so cool! Have found Terry at Zero Point One an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Spent a bit of time yesterday evening fitting it. The most awkward bit is removing and refitting the center console. A lot of people with track cars don't bother with this and must make it much easier! It's all fitted, just need to make some final adjustments before I take for a drive. Will update with fitted pics and first impressions.

Also ordered a Forge recirc valve, which I will fit next weekend hopefully. Need to get braided hoses fitted, some better pads and then time for mapping 😁

That is a work of art that thing! What are they like to use daily?

I am about to find out 😂 All reviews are really positive. Did a fair bit of research. Been told it transforms the shift and worth every penny so 🤞 Looked at the other options too and always came back to the Zero Point One.

Fitted and adjusted. Been for a drive and the shift is amazing! 3rd to 4th and vice versa is so slick. Will be fine for daily use and looks so good. Was not cheap, but chuffed to bits with it. Can't wait to drive to work in the morning.

How to they work mate?.

The Megane shifter is cable operated, so different to the Clio. I believe the longer gearstick and construction of the shifter creates the feel and shorter shift. I also have a short shift mod on my gearbox too. It looks and feels amazing. Really adds to the involvement of the drive. I can't wait to drive to work in the morning 😂

Zero Point One currently have a Clio 172 track car and they are developing a shifter for it, which should then be a available to buy. I can't fault them, have been excellent.

Drove the car to work this morning. I love the shifter and how it has transformed the gear change. Makes the drive even more of an event! Will see how I get on as I use the car more, but can't see my opinion changing!

It’s probably the only thing I wasn’t 100% sold on with my 275 cup. The gearbox. Doesn’t feel great, but notchy and disconnected feeling

The ZPO definitely changes that! Mine has the short shift conversion gearbox side too.

Thanks to @Somnambulist who ordered it for me along with one for his car. That will be all the mods I wanted done before going for mapping.

Fitted the Forge recirc valve this afternoon. Delivered to me by @Somnambulist in his lovely Megane RS 275 Cup S. Was a right pain to fit due to there being not much access to the three bolts that hold it on. Anyway got it fitted with the yellow spring. I now get the turbo chatter sound low down which I love! All the mods I wanted to do on the car are now complete so just need to book in for mapping at RS Tuning and book some track days 😁

Book it into EFI instead

My last one was mapped by RS and still going strong now. TBF its bit of a journey and ED is much closer so was tempted to go there. Just want to make sure its runs safe and don't blow up 🙈

Won't go wrong with any to be fair especially for a basic setup/tune but I'd go EFI-ED-RST in that order

This is the best car I have ever owned. I absolutely love the way it drives, sounds and looks. The shifter has transformed the gear selection. The recirc valve gives a nice flutter noise at low revs and is more like a dump valve at higher revs. The metallic pearl paint is amazing in the sunlight, but still subtle. The Recaros are perfect in the cloth finish for both cold and hot weather.

I am booked in with ED for mapping next week. Then it is time to book a track day. Went for a nice drive on Sunday afternoon and credit to @Somnambulist for the photos.

Been meaning to get a uprated lower gearbox mount for a while. Had a look on ebay last week and with a voucher I had 20% off so ordered a vibratechnics one. Got round to fitting it today and did not realise how much movement there is in the standard one! Got it fitted and will see how it is on school run in morning!

Have checked everything over ready for mapping on Wednesday at Engine Dynamics. Really looking forward to it. Current and up to date spec:-

Engine

Pro Alloy intercooler and turbo cooler
K-tec induction kit
Forge recirc valve
Mid box chop
Generic map on sport button to 300bhp

Chassis

Cup shocks with H&R lowering springs
18" Tibor wheels with 225/40/18 P-Zero tyres
18 x 8" Track wheels with Nankang AR1'S
Cup chassis with LSD gearbox

Interior

Recaro CS half leather seats
Zero Point One carbon shifter
Renaultsport mats

I still have K-tec braided brake hoses to fit. I will also get some uprated front pads before I do my first track day in it. The rears are getting a bit low too, but will just get some new Brembo pads to replace. I will update Wednesday with result of my trip to Engine Dynamics.

So today was mapping day. First time I have ever taken one of my cars to be mapped on a rolling road and I can't lie, I was quite excited! Before setting off I had checked the car over and filled with a full tank of Shell V-power, as that is what I normally run. A couple of the rocker cover bolts were weeping oil, which is fairly common on the Megane. Easy fix though as you remove the bolt, clean and degrease then reseal. Engine Dynamics are really busy so had to wait a couple of months for this slot and didn't want anything putting a halt to it! I was up nice and early for the drive to Colchester, Essex as was a little worried about the morning traffic.

Got to Engine Dynamics an hour early. Quite an impressive looking unit with various Renaultsport cars parked outside. Spoke to Andy on arrival who was friendly and welcoming. He was all ready to go so no waiting around. Had a chat about mods and my expectations.

In terms of modifications this car is almost identical to my grey RS 250, apart from decat which is a route I don't want to go down with this car. My old car was 321bhp/360lbft. In my head I thought a realistic figure for this car was 310 - 320bhp/330lbft. The main thing I wanted was safe fueling and reliability. One of the reasons for having the car mapped was to make sure everything is working as it should.

The dyno they have is a Pro Hub one that bolts directly to the car, so slightly different to a conventional dyno. First run done to check all was running correctly and see where the car was at. The previous owner said there was a generic 300bhp map on the car, which there was! I had said previously I thought it went well. Car was 288bhp and 280ftlb. Not bad really and all appeared well. More to be had though. Further discussion was had around figures and expectations, then Andy set to work his magic.

Further runs and tweaking to the map car made 313.8bhp and 337ftlb. Pretty chuffed with those figures, but main thing would be how that translated to the road. I knew the difference would not be as big as if the car had been standard to start with, but the torque figure was pretty impressive. Car was all finished by midday and then time for the drive home 😁

It did not disappoint!! Car feels so quick and pulls hard all the way to rev limiter. It's almost too quick for the road if that makes sense. I understand it will only go as quick as your right foot allows. It makes you want to push on and this will be perfect on track and early morning blasts, which is what the car is for. It is such a capable car. I do enjoy using it as a daily too though and today it has managed all mixture of driving. It does behave low down and easy to drive in traffic. So chuffed I have had it done. Need to get a track day booked at Brands Hatch just to give it a first run out and then further afield.

A really good day and very impressed with Andy at Engine Dynamics and the overall setup he has. Found him very knowledgeable and open to suggestions. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending him after my experience today.

Not updated my threads for ages! The Megane was sold Saturday to the first person to view it. It has been absolutely amazing and faultless in my ownership. I have owned it 18 months and covered 10k in that time.

Everytime I got in the car it never failed to put a smile on my face. Best car I have ever owned. Did everything I wanted from a daily and fast road car. Gutted I never got to use it on track. I absolutely loved it and cannot recommend a 250/265/275 enough. I will definitely get another. It was a really tough decision to sell, but needs must sometimes.

I only sold i to pay for a few things and clear a bit of debt. My sensible side kicked in unfortunately. I am also in the process of planning for a house extension.

I will definitely be getting another in the near future once I have sorted a few things out. It's not all bad though as I currently have a Clio 182 as a daily and my mint 172 Cup, which has had a bit of money spent on it as a result! It has gone to a good home though and will be used as intended! My parting photo 😢

🤦‍♂️ I have a good friend that has a 275 Cup S who I reckon would be happy for you to have a look. If all pans out I may have another in the not too distant future too. They are such great cars.
