I can’t help but feel a bit short changed by the ACO.

100 year celebrations seemed to consist of ramping up prices, getting more punters in , doing more corporate stuff and keeping the camp site resourcing at the same level despite getting 50% more people on the site.

Racing was good , mainly due to the rain

ACO, FIA

They're all bent.

Someone I know was there and ended up leaving because, and I quote, ‘it felt like Hillsborough’.

Not a memorable year really, out of the 12 I’ve been to! Good to have close racing till the end but that new safety car system was a bit of a f**k about. Sometimes half an hour to get themselves organised!!? The rain caused some utter carnage!

Also seriously busy - next year hopefully back to more normal levels. It’s come on a long way from the days of a few beer tents selling chip cobs and beers and just being dust tracks everywhere but they seemed unprepared for the massive crowds. Walking to forest essesses for the start was nearing crush levels tbh. We broke through a fence and sat on a banking.

Epic weather though and the massive Lego 9X8 was cool. Still sat in Houx finishing the beers and meat in the sun 🤣

The old bus has done well.

Been watching the Qatar coverage over the past few days, the hypercar class is epic now the other manufacturers have joined.

Also I still find Martin Haven massively annoying, especially when he keeps talking over someone. He’s WEC’s version of F1’s Crofty.

Yeah it’s absolutely wild now. Much more interesting than F1.

How do you guys follow the race when not sat in front of the tv

I have the app but I don’t pay the subscription and find the in race updates poor.

Anyone pay for the subscription.

Anyone else notice that the VM tv guide didn’t show that Eurosport was broadcasting Le Mans qualifying.

It came up on the listing as the French open tennis but qualifying was on.

Free practice 2 is on now.

Been interesting so far. Rain really fucked things up for some. Kubica showing other people what it’s like to absolutely smash a barrier at high speed.

Another good year tbh. Weather made it interesting that’s for sure - thank f**k for grandstand tickets for 4am dry viewing (above the pit lane so could hang over the barriers and watch).

9 cars on the final lap is wild. Suspect Peugeot won’t be back next year though with that showing but then other manufacturers are arriving next year. A shame as they have seriously good looking cars.

The four hours or so of safety car was a chance to get some kip - didn’t bother with Arnage for sunrise because… moist.

Gets busier and busier every year though which makes wandering between viewing locations difficult but they’re improving facilities etc too. Think this was year 14 and still wouldn’t miss it for the world.

It was mega close this year. Good race. Ferrari were gifted it a bit though with the love tap on the Toyota and only getting a 5 second penalty for it!

Despite working in the industry and specifically doing a lot of SportsCar stuff… this was my first year at Le Mans. What struck me was just how good the racing is now the hypercar class is amalgamated better, huge field and the BOP seems to be better than ever.

Few people on beer mountain moaning about overcrowding etc. I get it. In the circuit reminded me of silverstones “bad old days” but equally wasn’t anything too annoying. The beer was cold, the toilets were clean, the French were… French.

As for camping, we arrived on a Wednesday and left on a Monday. Zero traffic issues at all. We left the camp in the van to go view at different bits/get supplies. Think there was some traffic Friday but otherwise well managed imo.

1st but not the last!

was it as busy as last year (the centenary year with 325,000 spectators)

PS sucks to be the British guy who borrowed his mates C63 to go to Le Mans, did a load of donuts in a field, went off to go for a beer and this was happening to aformentioned C63….

Yeh a tad I think (329k). Thank f**k we had grand stand seats (for weather and crowd!) more people doing day tickets rather than staying at the circuit I think. Hopefully the ACO don’t totally f**k it for regular folk and make it all corporate shite…

Campsite was quite - a few pitches round us never got occupied. The village area with food and stuff never got as busy as I think some people make out - we always got a table / rarely queued but Tetre Rouge was very busy Saturday but then it’s a great place to spectate from so it’s to be expected!

That C63 melted a random blokes golf R and burnt a tent down, too! Bit of a s**t show!!
