EPAS switching on and off randomly.

Just went for a short drive and my EPAS switched off and back on again a couple of times, has anyone had this issue previously and traced down the cause?

A loud click could be heard from the EPAS ecu when it switched itself off and lost all assistance, followed by another click as the assistance came back.

My EPAS used to switch on/off frequently when out on track. I found that the potentiometer was set too low, causing vibrations to trigger it. I adjusted it to increase the resistance, which stopped the issue.

While it might not be the same problem, the symptoms were similar with the ECU clicking in and out. Occasionally, I would spray it with contact cleaner since the pots can get surprisingly dirty.

Sounds reasonable and could well of been the case, on this occasion I had the assistance right up (potentiometer on low) which I've never done before.
Dialled it back to where I'd normally have it and it's now fine 🤷‍♂️

Going to be keeping an eye on it, didn't feel nice almost being thrown in to a hedge 😂

Yeah, mine was set to low also - little resistance - and dialling it back a little cured it.

The first time mine went off was just as I turned out of Charlie's going onto Park Straight at Cadwell.
