Kempy’s Full Fat RB182

  Racing Blue FF 182
Thought I’d throw a few notable dates down with a picture for each. The car gets driven daily and most weekends I’ll be out in the car on a spirited run somewhere but figured if I listed every drive and posted every picture to match I’d be here a good while.

18th July 2023 - me and two mates did a couple of nights driving some of Wales’s best offerings.
In company of an E92 M3 and a 135i coupe the Clio held its own.

17th September 2023 - climbing Ben Nevis, figured it would be rude not to go in the Clio and make the most of some of Glencoe’s empty roads on an early morning return home.

7th January 2024 - a few hours spent in the car with a mate taking chase in his R53 cooper. Damp cold conditions but the zippy 2 litre feels perfectly suited to most tight sections in the Yorkshire dales.

And finally 27th of January 2024 - the cars first clean of the year. Some real poor weather conditions lately and likely the first full week we’ve had the temperature has stayed above 0 all week. Forgot I had anthracite wheels deep under all that grime.

Halfway through 2024 seemed like a good time to give the RB a bit of a refresh.
Full front end, bullets returned to factory silver, front badge returned to silver & headlights restored and clear coated.

Bodywork is exceptionally clean for the age - you will find some minor marks to be expected on a 19 year old car.

The Service and ABS lights have been on since I purchased the car, they don’t affect how the car runs or drives.

The car does have some tasteful modifications outlined below:
  • 172 cup A/C delete with cup alternator.
  • K-Tec catless manifold.
  • Milltek cat back system.
  • K-Tec polyurethane engine mounts.
  • BTT Motorsport polyurethane centre exhaust mount.
  • BTT Motorsport polyurethane rear exhaust mount.
  • K-Tec induction kit.
  • PBS front pads.
  • Brembo rear pads.
  • PBS ProRace 660 fluid.
  • Braided brake lines.
  • Cup shocks/Cooksport Springs.
  • Front camber bolts (2 deg).
  • Ph1 Gear nob.
  • Re-trimmed steering wheel.
  • Corbeau Clubsports / Jon Foz frames.
  • Factory 8 spoke alloys with Michelin Pilot Sport 3’s.
  • Speedline Turini’s in cup offset, wrapped in Nankang NS2-R.
The car benefits from a recent sympathetic exterior refresh, tidying up a handful of age related scuffs and removing any oxidisation from the sills, which I am happy to provide photos of.

As well as new discs and pads all round in March this year.

There is also a thread on ClioSport.Net that has been updated at significant points in the cars life which will back up the above maintenance documentation to verify the car has been nothing short of loved throughout my ownership.

The car has religiously been run on Shell V Power or Tesco momentum 99 throughout my ownership.

No known engine faults, no misfires or hesitation and pulls strongly throughout the rev range.

The gearbox does not make any untoward noises and all gears can be selected without crunching or resistance.

The car has been faultless in my 3 years of ownership and meticulously maintained throughout irrespective of cost (thousands spent in the last few months to get the car to as near perfect condition as possible)

I can send over a document for any potential buyer outlining all maintenance since new.

The car wants for nothing mechanically and I will not entertain low ball offers.

The car is priced at £6,495 on the factory 8 spoke alloys or £6,995 on the Speedline Turini’s.

I still have the factory seats that were removed from the car, I am open to negotiations if someone wishes to take both sets of wheels & the factory seats for a price.

l've tried to cover as much as possible, viewing is advised to appreciate the car.

No warranty offered or implied and the buyer is to view before buying.

Is that the original colour on those Turinis?

I love that combo. Works really well. Mine are a Dark Anthracite (none factory colour) and I think they’re too dark. I’ve was thinking Silver but this works much better.

Apologies I don’t tend to check back here all that often.

It wasn’t the original colour, it was almost a blue/grey, they came out really well and I thought they suited the car well, a change from the usual silver.

30th of October marks the date on which the Clio left to be enjoyed by its new custodian.

A brilliant chap to deal with, a collector of various cars.
It goes without saying it is a car I will miss, however my life has changed somewhat in the last few years and the car was seeing less use and I only thought it was right for someone else to enjoy.

So I guess, that really is all that she wrote.
(Probably my favourite photo of the car throughout my ownership)
