Oil breather / Catch tank ??

Good evening all

I like the idea of installing a breather / catch tank on my track use only 182 & not putting the oily vapour back in the intake, I’m still using a standard intake manifold & looking at options, I see some people just use a length of pipe with a filter on the end from the fitting on rear of the manifold & blank the larger one off, I quite like the idea of the set up in the picture I’ve stolen from an old thread on here, not seen any others like it, I take it the idea is it creates vacuum for the catch tank, would the catch tank be sealed or vented? Thoughts please people.

If that right side pipe on the catch tank is going to the inlet , that’s wrong .
Because all that would do is suck the oil fumes back into the engine , which it what you want to prevent .

All you need to do is run a single pipe from the back of the rocket cover outlet into the catch can , and vent the right outlet with a pipe and filter .
Under no circumstances must it be connected to and vacuum.

None Clio but that's how mine was set up. Caught plenty of oil and kept the throttle body clean.

Good evening

Thanks for your input gents, I’m under the impression that the catch tank filters the oil/water that comes out the rocker cover breather & the intake pipe creates a vacuum to pull the clean air back into the intake! I could be completely wrong though.

As above have the catch tank connected to breather plate and other port open to atmosphere for performance. It will still be pulling oil fumes in if connected into inlet.

It'll still be an improvement though surely if you don't want to vent to atmosphere?

I see some people just use a length of pipe with a filter on the end

I've bought a car recently that has that setup...sat on top of the air filter. 🤔🫠
Should sort that I guess 😆
