Megane R26 Flywheel - SMF or DMF?

Hi folks,

The clutch in my R26 has decided to s**t the bed, so I'm in need of some advice. I've already ordered a new R26.R clutch, but I'm wondering if I should buy a new R26.R DMF or upgrade to a SMF?

As it stands the car is mostly a road car, but I have used it on track. I know people say that the factory DMF's can cause issues, so I'm wondering if it's worth spending £100 more and installing a TTV SMF instead. Currently the car is running standard power, and in the future it's unlikely to get anymore than 280hp.

Cheers all!

People usually fit SMF because they're cheaper :ROFLMAO:
They're far from an upgrade imo. Fit the DMF (especially with it being a road car)
Spot on, I figured it would make more sense to keep the DMF seeing as it's mostly a road car!

Thankfully I can get a LUK DMF for the R26.R off Autodoc for around £280, so I'll go ahead and buy that. 👌

I've gone with the R26.R DMF in the end, came to £282. Compared to the TTV SMF which was £380ish, I'm happy to save the £100 over a very minor loss in performance.
Both my mk2 megs are still on dmf no issues, you will be fine with that setup for 280hp.

I think my r26 has same 26r clutch in as pedal is slightly heavier than original, its perfect for road driving.
