Alignment help

Just had my Clio 172 cup aligned.

Couple of questions!

Front castor is -2.5 degrees on both sides. Always assumed it should be -3 degrees with cup wishbones. Is this acceptable and will i really notice on the road?

Using Meyle balljoints.

Rear toe is odd.

NSR

Toe - 0.40
Camber - 1.46

OSR

Toe + 1.40
Camber - 1.40

So camber looks ok but Toe is odd.

Any ideas what the problem is and how to correct?

Thanks in advance.

I’m wondering if this is a user error at the alignment place.

Not sure how the toe can be +1.30 and camber is spot on.

Couple of readouts of my car, few years difference.

Can see my caster varied. Didn't notice any difference on the road, and its such a small amount. The car did eat balljoints for fun so I'd be checking yours anyway. Lemforder over Meyle on these IMHO.

Are the bushes alright on the wishbones?

Rear is weird. That toe definitely isn't right. Not taken a hit on that hub has it?

Wishbone bushes are new, so is the reast of the front end.

Alignment last done 800 miles ago, castor was the same and rear was all within spec.

Unless the guy has clipped the osr without damaging the alloy since.

Just before i purchased the car it had new rear discs fitted. I’m wondering if the spacers were installed.

I'd say that's more than just the spacers

I've had cars before that haven't had the spacers and they weren't that bad

Not much else it can be really. Bearings shot or axel bushes.

Given it’s the same (although not as bad) on both sides it’s probably shagged bearings.

Unless i’m missing something?

Bearing issue that, can see caliper is not moving and wheel is in vid.

Age old axle spacer issue and prob a cheap disc/bearing. Super easy to do yet so many get it wrong.

Borg & beck

Hoping this is the alignment issue cause.

Borg and beck 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I use Borg and Beck stuff sometimes, had no significant issues with any of it

My offside driveshaft on the Clio is a Borg and Beck, apart from the coupler coming loose when it got hot on track and sliding into my diff seal the shaft has been spot on

I actually think the quality for some of their parts is on par with the OEM

Id imagine bearings be cheap shite in them. I fitted a mintex pair recently and they also had cheap bearings in. Main issue for premature fail is prob missing spacer or incorrectly torqued.

Absolute eyes out at £350. £110 in parts and an hr to fit on a lift.

Id replace with Snr or oem renault discs.

Not for discs. What sort of bearings are they going to have in them?

This normal amount of play in beam bushes?

Yeah that bushing looks fine

Get some SNR bearings on those discs, saves you a few bob. You may want to replace that rear stub though, it has been chewed a bit. The step is still there at least but it may want a quick file to take the burrs off

Will do.

Probably clean it ip for now.

Doubt any of this will actually solve the alignment issue as it’s the other side and the spacer was present (although wrong way around).

Just noticed on the printout that the rear toe is in mm not minutes.

Not sure if that makes a difference.

So using this chart OSR is 0.16

NSR rear is 0.6 which is the collapsed bearing. So once i have replaced bearing and spacer all will be good.

f**k my head hurts. Needs to be on a hunter but i reckon all will be ok.
