Fixed axle alignment



Right then, alignment boffins!
I have these reading for the rear of my 2011 clio 1.2 (fixed rear axle) and im wanting to pull the OSR camber in by 1 degree and push the NSR toe out 0.4 degrees.
Looking at a conversion table by trackace ( https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...FjANegQICRAB&usg=AOvVaw0iOCH4CqDR7VfIq8b3DtqN ), for 16inch wheels, id need a 7mm shim to gain 1 degree for the camber and 0.6mm shim for 0.4 degrees for the toe adjustment.
Whos good at this whole degrees/minutes to millimetres stuff? I just want to be sure im looking at things correctly before i start stripping the back of my car...
Heres my shot of readings with written mm to help straighten things out 👍

That reading is in degrees and minutes.

The 0.39 is 39 minutes, so just over half a degree if you think of 60 minutes being 1 degree.

So the 7mm shim will give you pretty much 60 minutes, making both sides equal at one and a half degrees.

First and last time im doing it. Only done it after putting my coilovers on and a set of tyres being completely fucked after 6 months of having them!
Ill happily spend nearly £200 on tools and casters to align the car myself. Itll be a learning curve but ill be "Youtube tutorial certified" in no time 🤙
 
The hunter alignment itself is also only as good as the person operating the hunter machine... I have personally had very different results from a variety of garages using hunter machines.

I'm not saying its wrong, but they need to properly know what they are doing or it could be false readings.

Pretty easy to string line a car, you just have to take your time in the setup. The kits that hang off the car make it easier.
 
Camber and toe are seperate adjustments, so it was 4 in total. 20+vat for the toe per side 40+vat for the camber per side.
Absolute scandalous amount of money!
Safe to say i learnt the hard way 💁‍♂️

They bent you over there. I pay £60 for 4 adjustments.

Thought you were taking into account the rears then.

I paid £130 for height setup all round and a proper string alignment. Best it's ever been.
That's fair I'd say. I have paid 100 for 4 adjustments before but the car was on and off the ramps
