Teardown

Has anybody played Teardown on PC/Playstation/Xbox?

I'm currently obsessed, I'm slow but I'm getting better. It's a puzzle solving game based around demolition. I believe it's been out for 3 years or so, but it's available on the PS Store now and I've been really enjoying it. The thing is, you can be as destructive or creative as you want and as you progress you gain new tools, that can be upgraded throughout the game after finding valuables hidden within the levels.

I spent an unhealthy amount of time Friday evening, absolutely levelling one of the maps in the sandbox mode.

I've not added it to my collection yet but spent ages playing it whilst at a friend's place when it was on pre-release. Cool tech and a lot of fun just razing everything! 🤣
I've had some good belly laughs playing this where I've jumped cars through buildings etc. Very similar entertainment as Wreckfest.

I got it for my son for Christmas. Probably a bit difficult for him the campaign. You really have to plan out before you start setting the alarms off but I just changed some stuff in settings for him to make it a bit easier.

Bought this the other day cheap on Steam. It’s mint, and extremely refreshing that it allows you to practically destroy everything.

Also the attention to detail (even though it’s all pixelated) is mental. I watched a video of someone who had created a whole IKEA shop which was then subsequently wrecked.

Hahaha, I got it as well on the offer and only played for an hour or so , but already a lot of fun! The amount of freedom is insane, definitely need to work on my creativity!

Suck it, timeshare!

Because of this thread, I reinstalled in over the weekend. Amazed at the way the fire spreads realistically when you set fire to the likes of ceiling joists and wooden flooring.

It should be rebranded as the 'Inner Anarchist Simulator'.

I've not played with fire really, next on the list. When all support goes on bottom floor of a building I assume it collapses? Would be a terrible shame if someone removed the walls and set the supporting beams on fire..

Many times I've gone on the open map mode and seen how much I can burn down or just blow up. 3 hours down the line and I think to myself, what the f**k have you just done for 3 hours.

f**k me, if you think it's hard now...

I'm now at the rich dudes house where I need to dispose of six cars in the water.

Pretty easy so far but will it all be time based things like this?

It's like you said, it's a puzzle game with destruction in the side rather than just blowing everything up recklessly.

And is there enough money to upgrade everything or should I save my money for later weapons?

Yeah I just finished that. I’d hoped the missions were going to be a lot more destruction based than stealing within a time limit based.

A lot of it is time based but it's all the planning, please tell me you're not all just doing it on the fly?

The frustration some times with the planning and prep is that you've not made a hole big enough or the f**king planks don't quite link, so when you actually need to use the c***s they flip or tip and it totally f***s you.

Money wise, it's down to how much you find, theres loads of it stashed and you'd never guess where it is. Like in lofts, where theres no need for you to go there but you end up finding cash.

It makes me laugh, as you progress you're warehouse becomes more lavish.

Also, getting the reward for doing the fastest lap is as easy or as hard as you want to make it. Do you drive around the track, or destroy the gantries and drag the markers closer together to do like an 8 second lap.

Ow no! Impossible with those six cars that need to go in the water in under 60 seconds. Just done it in 54 seconds, took me almost 50 minutes to plan it out though!

Good puzzle though, the save system works well for trying out routes or destroying sensitive things.
