Turbo conversion throwing EML

Evening all. Picked my newly converted cup up on Friday after my mate finished fitting ED kit along with a decaf and a few other bits. Have got the mapping booked for two weeks time. As advices in sticking some miles on the car to check for any leaks etc….. While driving it on Saturday there was a hesitation between 2.5k and 3k rpm and then the EML came on a bit like small misfire. Taking it back to my mates tomorrow or Tuesday to get it plugged into the scanner. Is there anything obvious I should be looking at? Can ran perfectly before the turbo kit.

i know…….. shouldn’t have fitted a turbo. Was maybe being naive when I expected it to last more than 30 miles before it’s s**t itself.

Probably the fact it's now boosted and hasn't been mapped yet.

It’s got nothing to do with the fact you’ve fitted a turbo.

It’s the fact you’re driving it without it being mapped. Of course it will be misfiring and running badly.

are you running it with boost too? or fitted but with the boost pipes off? has it got an ecu on with at least a turbo base map?

Cars broken mate. Will buy it off you for £500.

(Or, it just needs mapping. Like any other engine that's just had a turbo conversion)

it’s got the base map put on the ecu. I know it going to run badly with the base map on it more why it’s thrown the engine management light. Spoke to ED and he said the EML will be a separate issue so needs sorting before it goes for mapping.

It could be a multitude of things tbh, from injectors, spark plugs, coil pack or lambda sensor. You need to plug it in and see what it’s saying.

What injectors you running?

Megane ones that come with the kit. Injectors and plugs are new.
