Oops I did it again... Adey's Clio 200 EDC

Bet them wheels scrub like a mofo. Odd one, base spec bumpers and spoiler but with 5 stud wheels but flappy paddles

There certainly will be scrubbage.

Base bumpers/spoilers are an odd choice but it goes to show that the right wheels and fitment will make any car look good.

So on Sunday I managed to bag a Megane 4 RS 300 Turbo on ebay @DaveL485 was up near where it was and kindly picked it up for me. Today he was flying past my work on a trip and being the legend he is, swung by and dropped off the turbo. I've wasted no time in separating it and taking some measurements. It would be an awesome win if I could get away with a core and cold side swap similar to the old 14t to 15t swaps on R26's. Will hopefully find out this weekend if I get a few hours spare to play.

The core is definitely different in design as is the comp housing and compressor wheel The comp wheel has a longer taller design. Exhaust side looks identical though 🤞 Spins really well with its ceramic ball bearing core too. Be good to get measurements of the 280 item vs this.

Speaking with Tuur at Dekker Motorsport, mapped up the 300s can do 20-30bhp more than the 280s. Be nice to keep the same spool but have a little more power, even if it ends up only being 10bhp. Will get it all fitted and start some convos with Scoff about fitting me in for a map tweak (y)

So yeah, as I thought the 300 turbo will fit the 280 rear housing. Renault have kept it simple. As in the video, Ive swapped loads of bits over and have it running. Just need to finish off the actuator setup and pipework and ill book in for a map tweak.

Seems like a chunk of work for not much gain, but i like to tinker. On the megs it should net you an easyish 20-30bhp gain

Have finished of the actuator this morning wasnt too hard after a little parts bin raid, tried to set it to start cracking around 6/7psi. Smoke tested with a tiny wisp noted from the map sensor so will get a new o-ring sorted.

Did a brief test drive, could be a placebo but, it feels like its gets up and going quicker than it did. ECU should be smart enough to keep boost in check and the wideband should keep fuelling close too. Might not gain much but we will see in time.

Currently waiting the oils to burn off now and will button it up for some more test miles.

Id be hyped passing 310bhp on EFI's dyno tbh. 250 to 260ftlb at 6500 would be decent with the usual table top torque delivery. Im half expecting to need a clutch quite soon after this latest revision....

Mega, my guess was pretty good😁. Am i right in saying your limited rpm wise on oem software?

been sat with this written up for a while now....... any one else just get the itch to try something else?

2015 Renault Clio 200 EDC Cup – 300bhp – £7,500

I've decided to put my Clio up for sale

I've owned it for around 3½ years and it's been my daily throughout that time, covering around 35–55 miles a day. I've also taken it on a few trackdays, so it's definitely been used rather than being a car that's sat in the garage.

It's a 2015 Clio 200 EDC Cup in Flame Red, currently on 128,000 miles.

I've been modifying and developing the car pretty much throughout my ownership, trying different things and gradually building it into what I wanted. The current combination of parts and setup has been developed over roughly the last 18 months, with the Megane 280 RS turbo and twin-scroll manifold being the biggest change.

It's currently running 315bhp, mapped by EFI Parts, and as far as I'm aware it's the only Clio 200 in the country running this particular Megane 300 RS ceramic ball bearing turbo and twin-scroll manifold combination.

The turbo has a custom Forge Motorsport actuator setup, with the supporting modifications including:

  • Megane 4 RS HPFP
  • Sytec in-tank fuel pump
  • Custom turbo intake
  • Airtec cold-side boost pipes
  • Forge Motorsport FMIC
  • GT Performance Megane decat downpipe
  • GT Performance silenced cat-back exhaust
The gearbox has also had some attention, with a 2018 TCU fitted and mapped, along with upper and lower Powerflex engine mounts.

For stopping and handling I've fitted:

  • Brembo front calipers using the Pure Motorsport conversion kit
  • Renault Sport semi-floating front discs
  • Godspeed rear discs
  • PBS pads all round
  • Cooksport lowering springs
  • Trophy shocks
  • CompBrake adjustable top mounts
It's sitting on 17x7.5 Rota Sprints in white, with Yokohama AD08RS tyres.

Externally it's got a front splitter and Maxton Design side skirts. The bodywork is free from any major dinks or dents, but it is a 10-year-old car that's been used every day, so there are the usual marks you'd expect from a car of this age and mileage. I'd rather be upfront about that than pretend it's a concours example.

Inside I've kept things fairly standard. It has the Zoe AC panel, Android Auto and RS Monitor activated, but otherwise it's pretty much as Renault intended.

I've looked after the car myself throughout my ownership and have carried out all of the servicing, both major and minor. I've never really subscribed to the idea of running a modified car and cutting corners on maintenance — it's been maintained regardless of cost.

I've also sorted some of the known issues along the way, including relocating the battery to the boot and fitting a new battery within the last 12 months.

Recent work includes:

  • New rear brake calipers – within the last 6 months
  • New wideband lambda sensor – within the last 6 months
  • New battery – within the last 12 months
  • Oil change – within the last 2 weeks
  • Megane spark plugs – within the last 4 weeks
  • New coil packs – within the last 2 weeks
I've documented a lot of the work and maintenance on my YouTube channel, so there's quite a bit of history showing what I've done with the car rather than just a list of modifications in an advert.

MOT until 29 June 2027.

Why am I selling it?

There's nothing wrong with the car and there's no urgent reason to move it on. I've just had the Clio for a good few years now and I'm starting to fancy a change.

I've owned and enjoyed RWD cars in the past and I'd really like to get back into something along those lines. The Clio has been a great car for me and I've genuinely enjoyed developing and driving it, but I think it's time for something different.

I'm also realistic about the mileage. At 126k it's never going to appeal to someone looking for a low-mileage example, but it's been a very well-used and well-maintained car. I've continued to develop it and spend money on it because I enjoy it, not because I'm preparing it for sale.

I'm asking £7,500.

If you're looking for a standard, low-mileage Clio, this obviously isn't the car for you. If you're looking for a properly developed 315bhp Clio 200 that's been owned, modified and maintained by an enthusiast over several years, then it might be worth coming to have a look.

I'm happy to answer any questions and go through the car and what's been done with anyone genuinely interested.

So I have a car on order through the works scheme, I have space for 1 car on my drive and have 4 in the household.... This is now genuinely up for sale. Notes updated and bit probably still missed. Advert will be going up elsewhere this weekend.
