cheers guys,
i actually had a few probs with my fuel pump last summer and had it changed a couple of times (second hand parts). The seal was leaking then and it really smelt strong. It was a couple of months after it was sorted the smell started again, but seems the garage said they couldnt...
hi,
every morning after i've been driving for about 15 minutes, when I put the blowers on i get a really strong smell of petrol. you can then smell petrol inside and out of the car even after doing short journeys through the day. i dont seem to be using any more fuel than normal - but am...
i like my black cars too, there again i also like the red and yellow  (def not silver tho). i cant even decide what chocolate bar to eat, let alone what colour car to go for!
out of interest, following on from death of a mk 1, what is the highest mileage or lowest mileage on here for mk 1 valvers?
mines apr 92 102k which i reckon is prob quite average
dont make me cry :(. u must be one of the lucky ones. ive only had mine for 18 months, so its last owners cant have looked after it as well as i do. it is only bubblin so doesnt detract too much from the car - just squint a bit when you look at my rear arches ;)
love my renos, but the cupra was amazing to drive (specially that cool little whistley noise it makes) - dunno about the cupra r, but can only assume it is even better - the only question id ask is what colour to go for???
Ive got a Apr 92 black valver. Its immaculate, apart from a bit of rust starting to appear over the rear arches (are there any that havent?) which ill get sorted soon.
its had its share of probs and everyone i know thinks im mad 4 keeping it given these probs and its age, but theres no way...
Done a quick search and cant find many refs to this for some reason. How do I take my handbrake handle off - do I have to cut it (as one post suggested)? Need to get my nice new Momo one on asap. Cheers
dont want to put a dampner on it mate, but the cctv may act as a deterrent to some people, but if they really want to do the damage they will whether theres a camera there or not. youll also need to think about lighting...would you be able to recognise someone enough to id them, if they were...
i was just thinking that the other day...especially blue ones.
Perhaps you should get a valver ive only seen two others in the 10 months ive had mine :D
you dont know how different the seat frames are between mk 1 ph1 and mk 1 ph 2 are do you? - only my mk 1 ph 1 seem to be riveted on to the seat...can you unscrew the ph 2 ones?
(should i start a new topic for this? sorry)
Hiya Ratty,
Youve prob solved it by now, but i think you need brut force. You dont need to go under the car. I have recently taken my 16v seats out the front and the bolt things were v. hard to undo, but did it after bit of effort. It helps if you have one of those screwdrivers that bends...
Okay, cheers matey....Ill just have to wait for everyone to return....perhaps Ill use the leathers as spare lounge seats or summat....:(.....please dont forget about me waiting here...
Not having much luck here...r19 runners dont fit into existing clio floor holes.....please can ANYONE help out there.....?????????
Im thinking of just drilling new holes into the clio runners - is this a bad idea?????????????
Yep, looking at my orig seats, they fix by four screw/bolts to the top runner bit. So I assume a new r19 top bit, will fit onto my clio bottom bit (there again , perhaps Ive done enough assuming for one day!)
I think Ill play it safe and take whatever bits unscrew at the scrappy!
Thanks...
Just been in touch with my local scrappy who has some r19 runners el cheapo...does anyone know if I need the top and bottom part of the runner, or just the top??? (sorry..not being v. technical here!) and also any runner bits for the back???
Want to make sure I get it right when Im there...
Okay, cheers Chris. I will see if anyone else has any bright ideas...if not, I guess its a trip to the scrappy (for the sub frames..not the car!.......yet:devilish:).
The place I got the seats didnt include the frames.
