When giving the car a proper clean the wife pops out and makes some comment about how long it's taking before pulling 'the face' and walking off.:argue:
But you are comparing two hot versions of the same car. The person who is looking at a 1*2 FF falls into the same category as the Elise buyer. Couldn't care how safe it is etc so will take the more focused cup for the better driving experience.
Unfortunately I would suggest the hot versions of...
Lotus Elise at the height of production shipped 4500 cars per year worldwide. Total Renault Clio sales in the UK last year 8640. And the UK is nowhere near the top of the pile when it comes to Renault sales. So in real terms the Elise is a low volume car.
Lotus Elise has never been NCAP tested...
Your average Elise buyer pays no interest in how many NCAP stars it's got. I would also suggest an Elise is by no means a mass produced car.

The Bean as it stood at CS Saturday.
Picked these up in need of a refurb from a member on here
Refurbished by Paul at the wheel specialist in Enfield.
And finally fitted to the bean.
The wheels were the first thing I wanted to...
Had my wheels done at the Enfield branch last week. Great service from Paul who runs the shop.
They offered to match the Renault colour for a slight price increase. They stated that they would powder coat in their standard anthracite colour then paint the face in the Renault colour prior to...
PM Simon from sprayshack in the trader section. He uses the renault colour and is very reasonable for wheel painting I believe.
Sure he will give you the paint code if you ask him. He did put it in a PM he sent me but I've deleted it.
As others have said I had a look around making use of the discounted entry fee. I thought it was worth the money and enjoyed it but wouldn't go again unless there was an extensive change of exhibits.
