Given this some thought... If you attach the retaining disc upside down it will just slot in and hold in place until you lift straight up to remove. It only turns to lock. You don't need to lock as the dock will hold it.

I was under the impression that if you buy a new RSTuner from fastchip you don't need to buy a licence. When you buy it new it is unlocked. It only becomes locked after its connected to a vehicle.

Have had these on my old BMW and on the wife's S-Max. Good performance in wet and dry but don't last long.

I use one of these. Small disc on the back of the phone locks into the mount. Simple twist off. Sorry just read your post again and see you are looking for something that will work with a dock. This won't work as you have to twist it in/out.

Depends on the head unit you buy. Some supply a patch cable that supports the display most do not. Mine just says "Renault" with the time and temp display. Contact MT Audio in the trader section on here. I have found him to be very helpful.

Mine stays on dim all the time when the doors are closed and full bright when opened. If I get out and lock the doors it goes off. I assume there is no current to the light when the doors are locked.

My Macbook lived on the mains with the battery installed. Only taken off once or twice a week and never got below 20% before getting plugged back in. Sold after 3 years with coconut battery still reporting the battery at over 90% efficient. Not suggesting what has been posted is untrue but...
