Thanks everyone for their help - obviously especially you Rich. Can't wait to get started on the weekend. Watch out for my car in Practical Performance Car magazine over the next couple of months, as it's the shoot next week!
Here's a few pics of the car in its current state:

Sorry - i don't know why i posted "resin" instead of "polish" think the sun must be getting to me.
Should my method now be:
- Wash (Gilmour Foamaster II, with chemical guys maxi suds)
- Clay (megs clay kit with detail spray)
- polish (which one should i use for a metalic blue?)

Thanks guys. To answer your Q's....
I dont really want to remove material as the wash and clay should sort out whatever weekly muck has been spat up. I probably wax the car every 4-6 months.
I've got Megs gold class wax.
I don't think i need the Scratch X as there aren't any defects in the...
Hi Guys,
I wanted to get the order right for cleaning the car, but i wasnt sure if i needed anything else, or which were the best products to use for the stages I'm unsure about. Can anyone advise?
- Wash (Gilmour Foamaster II, with chemical guys maxi suds)
- Clay (megs clay kit with...
It HAS got a boot though - admitadtly it can just fit my laptop bag in, but it's a boot none the less. You can fit about 3 shopping bags in the bonnet too!
I doubt that very much - it's an enthusiats car, for people that know what it is and have picked it because of these reasons.
Sorry, but...
I could never really see the point of having a 3/4 plate on the VX no matter how much everyone banged on about them. I never hit any speed bumps with it, and when i did occasionally scrape the plate in a parking bay - i viewed it as a bit of a warning system. IE if i had a 3/4 plate it would...
It depends on your criteria though doesn't it? Me? I wanted something to replace my VX220 with that had more creature comforts (should that be some creature comforts), was as quick (it's faster), rear wheel drive, 2 seats, and was special (354 produced).
It ticked all the right boxes for me...
Thanks 172, much appreciated.
Luckily my wife just got herself a micra so we now have a "big car" too. The dog likes it a lot more than sitting on my her lap (harnessed up). But yes, i do have the obligatory towel behind the seats for those damp moments, and a bad back after driving it for an...
yeah i think i will have to add one of those to the list too. I must admit, part of the V6's appeal (and the vx220's for that matter) is that you never see them on the road, and so feel pretty special.
Hi Chris,
Yeah i'm on the .org site :)
I heard the MK1's are a bit of a handful, and the MK2's were the one to go for if your going down that route.

Hi all,
First post here, so please be gentle...
I've currently got a 2.2 VX220, which i've had for a couple of years now. I've been thinking about a range of cars to replace it with this year. I'm pretty sure i want a V6 though.
I was wondering if anyone had owned a VX or Elise and then...
