You live in Caversham? Never seen you about (that I remember)
I've only ever seen one 197 on the road and it was obviously on a test drive (apart from Ado's at meets - and I'm yet to see that actually being driven!)
They do seem very rare. TBH everytime I see a new Clio it takes a while to...
Indeed.
But it does have a ring of truth about it as the 197 does appear to be under powered - see article in same issue of EVO where it could not keep up with Cooper S, Corsa VXR, or Seat thingy-bob despite having highest 'claimed' bhp :(
Indeed.
Maybe they should force the manufacturers to enter saloon cars rather than hatch backs. Then again the market is probably bigger for hatchs now
Agree with that.
But then again its not my Trophy to trade in! OP's choice.
I had a little run with a black ST the other day. Decated, exhaust and remaped = sounded rude! spitting little flames too
I did have a K-tec stealth - but got rid as it was too boomy for my liking (the sports cat prob increase resonance a bit). I believe they have revised the design since then though
Real buzzy noise? it was on mine
Be warned my back box began to blow and fell off shortly after I started getting the 4k rattle.
Never really found out what exactly was causing the problem - I went to K-tec and had a sports cat and cat back exhaust system fitted; and the rattle stopped! lol :)
It passed the MOT a few months ago :S
I hav'nt changed the bulbs and I seriously doubt the previous owner did too.
TBH I reckon it might have come from the factory like this.
I used to have mine set on 0 for normal driving - no back passengers/nothing in boot - but people kept flashing me all the time. I checked the manual and 0 (as Brian just said) should be the correct setting with just me and one front passenger in car, so I left it as it was and just figured...
Its not a straight swap - thats why its fairly expensive to have fitted.
Think you need a link pipe to connect it to the 172 cat.
K-tec do a 182 mani and sport cat kit - check it out.
Don't think they tweaked the ECU much, most of the gain comes from the manifold IRRC
Thats not the point. The manifold is the source of the power difference between a 172 and 182. Hence he'll gain 10bhp (in theory) putting a 182 mani on his 172.
I've thought about having this done myself, but having it fitted ain't cheap I believe
Been taken over by some kind of virus I think - loads of bogus users and threads.
Agree it could be a good site. Problem is most Cup owners are on here too where you can get all the same info you might need, and the forum is way more lively
