My bad.. it is a £14 car new once you add all extras on - i paid nowhere near that for it.
making it a nippier better handling car doesnt defeat the object - that is the objective. A little more torgue goes a long way in a nippy little car. :)
I dont want a fast car, a nippy car that handles well.
If i wanted big power i would have brought a second hand civic engine and dumped it in the rear of the saxo! LMBO or something else as wild as that.
I have the mocal off my VTR so just need pipe work and mounting place. My very good mate ownes a garage so all work is free... i just pay for parts and usually he will get me them trade. I get a holiday too as hes in Wales... gives me a chance to tinker with the car and get out on my bike lol...
Im well on my way with my TCE, ITG panel filter, (I have a bolt on open filer too and will see what the difference is) Sebring back box, powerflow from down pipe, bailey dump valve, trying to fit the boost guage now... hmm...
On the to do list is 25mm spacers, lowering, brake lines and...
Guys / Gals
What is the deal with the1.2t clio - i have at th moment a replacemnet pannel filter, bailey dump valve, exhaust, im in process of fitting a boost guage.
What is the deal with the turbo, what size is it? how much boost? can it be tweequed or replaced?
All comments and dvie...
to increase performance on a 1.2 strip it, stiffen the chassie and suspension add breathing mods with a remap add some big brakes- youll notice a big difference.
I think its a matter of where is the torque in the rev range?
Tyres, weight, and start are all important... coming from a citroen / pug and with the clio being lighter id say clio woudl edge it off the line, however its a dam good line up. The pug is a good car.
:D
first service - use renault dealer parts and a VAT registered garage to do the work then you keep the warrenty - i drive form Hampshire to South Wales everytime i need something done to the car!!
First service is just oil + filter and pollen fiilter i think. mine cost me £50.
If hey guy wantd out and out performance he wouldnt have brought a 1.2... ease up. As i said It wont kill anyone, see for yourself it is better but pricy 1.2 is not great to see gains but still better.
end of
oh 1.2 mk3 rec. 95ron or 98ron not 97 as i said before... my bad.
I digress -...
What do you mean tuned on? Its not an flute or a piano LMBO!
All cars come with recomended fuel ron a VTR is 98ron - read the handbook citreon supply.
The clio is 95 or 97 ron.
Also to take into account is the air temp... as dense air means better performance... and more miles...
V power is better than standard 95 ron. I use it as much as possible both in by clio and VTR. You can use sainsbury or tesco high oct. fuel too it doesnt need to be V-power or BP ultimate. If expense is an issue you can by some stuf from halfords that cleans deposites from your engine, however...
imo thats to low for optimum performance but i bet it looks the nuts. Ill wait and get a damper and spring set up. i like the look of the 197 grill... think ill look into prices of those plastics.
i had black (purple 2 tone) wheels on the sax it looked great, think ill get the clios sprayed...
i can see it now! i like that, different front vents to mine, also the centre caps are gone from wheels - love the black wheels! i wonder what smll m3 mirrors would look like?
nice!
The image has been removed or relocated ...
Zorst, Bailey dump valve, Boost guage, small arial, are my first changes.
You can only get 35mm springs atm - how poo is that - im not paying for a full damper & spring set yet! 45mm - 50mm will suit nice with dampers,as and when, that drop isnt...
Ah mk 3 it is then! Sorry im new to clios - dont shoot me when i say i used to have a saxo VTR.
So i can fit my 13 row mocal from the saxo onto the clio then!? Hmm i wonder if mocal do a thermostatic end plate for the tiny oil filter i have.
It would look nice with a mocal and the standard...
Ok thank you, it seems i must remove endless amounts of unnessasery plastic to follow it then... bigger job than i thought...
On another note. Do you know if the 1.2 turbo has an oil cooler? i see the intercooler but no oil cooler?
thank you for the reply.
:)
In the new clio how do you run this pipe through to the footwell area i cant seem to find a gromit that i can use to poke it through - the only place i have not looked is behind the heat sheild behid the turbo.
Any ideas guys & gals
Thank you
:o
