Ibiza 20vt is a lot of car for the money, particularly when you factor in the tuning potential. However, no matter what you do (coilovers, etc) its ultimately limited by a dated chassis concept and cant make the most of big power increases. I ran a 2001 20vt for a couple of years and it had...
Who are the guys/gals Ive seen a couple of times around the M1 Grange Park junction (15) on a weekday morning (8:00 -8:30) ?
I was hoping to chat to someone local about the dealers round here.
I was sat in the usual queue about a week ago and for a couple of seconds there were 4 Cups all...
So sump plug is 8mm square fitment then ?
Guy at local dealer insists its an allen key type fit thats needed to remove it (though this is Camden were talking about).
I havent checked coz Id rather not be scrabbling around underneath and taking bits off just to check what tools I need.
Cheers.
This reg is up for grabs for £250 on DVLA auction site..............i think i may be tempted - it justs needs some subtle fettling with the font style to read "clio". Saw a C110 on a Clio the other day and it certainly stands out once the "110" is tweaked.
R172 Cup is also up on the same...
is it deffo the 8mm square plug............it rings a bell, think thats what my 95 RSi needed.
Ive had conflicting advice on this for the 172...........anyone else ?
Cheers.
done just over 5k and want to change the oil. I know I need to remove the undertray, but can anyone tell me what I need to remove the sump plug - is it a conventional socket set job or one of the continental things (ie: like some of the fittings for the interior panels, etc). If its one of the...
heard a bit about the Eibach Pro springs.....how much of a drop do they give (I dont want the car "slammed") ?
Any pics ?
Thought about springs when I had my Cupra (yeah, I know, I got wise and got a Cup !) but drove a couple with Eibach springs only and the car felt like a po-go stick...
) Always do your ringing around about 9.30AM. Calling 10 minutes before the office shuts is never going to get u a good price - again, youll just get blown out, avoid Fridays as well!

If you get a clunk on the drivers side front when you are in first or second gear, say crawling in traffic, and back off accelerator abruptly without braking, its probably the engine mount - large one on drivers side at top of engine. Ive had this and spoke to a reno techy who seemed to know...
Is this the mod people are referring to on the Actis system ?
Sorry if this sounds ignorant, but can you describe exactly what is rubbing on what - when you refer to the strut tower, is this the cone-type feature under the bonnet that the shock slides up into with the meaty rubber bush at the...
Can you get a Brembo conversion for a CUP and is it worthwhile ? or is there a recommended alternative ?
Had an upgrade on an Ibiza Cupra and the improvement was astonishing.
Any ideas what could be causing this:
Driving over gravel driveway, slightly uneven surface, applying quite a bit of right hand lock (not necessarily full-lock) up a bit of a slope, so the load is on the passenger side of the car and the drivers side front wheel is unloaded - get a fairly loud...
Sounds like my problem. Its most obvious if Im crawling in traffic in first or second gear.........let the revs build a little then lift of the accelerator abruptly and theres a single clunk/knock from the front of the car.........sounds like its high up on the drivers side. Had a thorough...
Cups done just over 3k and used a bit of oil (about half way between min and max)..........guess this is just part of the running in phase.
Do they tend to settle down after a while or generally use a bit between services (I suppose how u drive it may have something to do with it) ? What have...
found a lengthy thread on oil, but peeps still seem to be questioning whether it comes with 10w 40 semi-synth from the factory or whether its a 5w 40 fully synth as stated in the manual.
ill change it at 6k (surely 12k is too long), but need a top up in the meantime and want a match for what...
Getting conflicting advice from dealers.............one says 10w 40 semi-synthetic, another said 15w 40, yet theres a footnote in the service manual clearly stating "use only 5w 40 for V6 and 2.0l 16v RSport engines"
What is it then.........I was assuming it should be fully synthetic, but I...
Ive run it carefully for about 1,500 miles and then started giving it some stick. Its done a little over 2,500 now, and although it seems to kick at about 4,500rpm, it still feels like theres more to come..............doesnt seem to be revving that freely.
Suppose it just needs to loosen up...
I posted on here just before xmas about a knocking noise (well, a single "clunk") that occurs when crawling in traffic in first or second gear and then backing off abruptly so theres a large amount of engine braking. It also happens when in reverse and slipping the clutch, say reversing up a...
Ive been given an induction kit (big vent feature located at the front of engine attached to nice bit of Samco) made by Simota which was got on the cheap. Having compared it to those supplied by other manufacturers for the Clio and other cars (eg: 106 GTI), it seems to be very much the same...
All dealer will say is that itll be rectified under terms of warranty. Why should I have to accept a "new" car thats had paint. No matter how good the repair, Ill always know its there, itll P!ss me off as long as I own the car and when I come to sell itll be spotted. Ive looked over plenty...
The car was damaged prior to me taking delivery. The offside area of the front bumper has been repaired (cowboy job), unmatched paint blown-in above the nearside rear passenger window (when seen in sunlight it looks like a different colour and feels rough like its been done with a Halfords...
yeah......spoken to trading standards and although they clearly explained my rights, etc, and what to do/not to do, they seem reluctant to get involved.
Thanks to all who replied to previous threads...........its reassuring to hear of some successful outcomes.
Ive written to the dealer 3 times clearly stating that Im rejecting the car with a list of the reasons and all they do is write back saying they wont accept rescission of contract on the...
Im in the process of rejecting my Cup coz its been damaged and repaired prior to me taking delivery (crappy repair to front bumper, patch on nearside rear quarter blown in, overspray everywhere, etc).
Needless to say, the dealer (Richard Sanders of Kettering) arent interested in trying to...
