Rather then re-iterate what I've already said on my Ebay advert, here's a link (assuming that's ok):

Ideally I'd like to get to as close to £5k as I can, but its true value is...
Blaupunkt, as a friend works for them, but if you have anything you want to sell just let me know. I'm out on the road until 4:30pm, I'll pickup any messages then.

Does anyone know the size/install depths of the components in the Phase2 172? This isn't laziness on my part, more that I don't pickup the car until Thursday but I have a chance to buy some cheap kit today.

It's a pendulum effect, as happened to the original Golf GTi.
1. It's light, but with little comfort, but it does what it's supposed to do exceptionally well.
2. Fat people start buying them, then decide they want climate, leather, electric sunroof, sat nav.
3. They get heavier and they lose...
An article in Evo magazine said that you'd need to be a very talented driver of a 182 to stick to the rear diffuser of a 197; the journalist is either a c**t or a clown as I didn't find the 197 to be noticably quicker in any respect. In fact, if anything, I felt that the turn in was slightly...
I'm after the install depths for front/rear speakers, practical maximum depth rather than people's own personal choice of which speaker to use. I'm not really interested in cutting or using a different rear shelf, so I'll have to endure the short-comings that 6*9's supposedly have.
Also, I'm...
1. Japanese cars generally have far fewer miles on them.
2. Japanese cars generally have every optional extra on them.
3. Japanese cars rarely have rust.
Does anyone know anything about this Clio?

Having a cat1 alarm/immobiliser doesn't make any difference to the cost of my car insurance whatsoever, I can't think of any occasions (or any cars) where it's dropped because I chose to have it fitted. However, that may be different if you're paying £1k plus for insurance.
Those places that...
Generally speaking, it doesn't. Many underwriters will only issue cover on certain vehicles under the premise one is fitted, so in that case it's mandatory, but very few, if any will give discount.
You do get discount for fitting one on a bike, which is almost pointless as it's far, far easier...
It's more than just a waste of time having stickers, it's a useful way of telling the thief exactly which alarm/model you have fitted. A professional car thief is most definitely a trim expert when it comes to alarms.
People forget that the real skill is NOT starting the car, you can hot-wire...
In reality, it's very easy to ring, and you'll probably find that it was stolen to order for just that purpose.
Person buys smashed 182 that is not registered, steals a similar vehicle, swaps chassis/vin numbers, and the ringed car is sent to auction or for private sale within hours...
Absolutely no way - do not be under the illusion that they won't come upstairs and 'politely' ask for the keys as that's exactly what they'll do.
I leave mine in an obvious place by the door in the hope they'll see them, take them, then fcuk off. I don't want them coming anywhere near mine or...
Hi
Yeah, I'm the same G18LL0 that's on the Evoforum. I go on there quite regularly but it's quite rare that I ever post now.
The trouble you'll have is that you can't get new Solextra any more, absolutely no one has it, and the only way you'll get a replacement is by buying it 2nd...
My Integrales used to be with AON, at £250 a year, but over the past few years they've cut their cover and raised their excess. I'm with ClassicLine now, they've been under £300 for the past 2 years.

One of the best modifications you can buy is tuition, i.e. modifying your driving style, and in most cases it's the biggest factor in becoming quicker that you can buy. It's not unusual for people to 'find' 2-3 seconds a lap at Donington after tuition, you'd probably need at least 40-50bhp more...
Try Sainsburys - they've just entered into the insurance market and they're selling policies at around cost + 3-5%. Always check the small-print for exclusions, or for excess's or cover limit, those are often the only real differences between policies.
I pay £250 a year for my 172, fully comp...
I looked there!!
There's a feeder bottle for what appears to be brake fluid and another for power steering fluid, but I couldn't see anything else.

It doesn't really matter what you think, it's all about what's required for the contract between the insurer and yourself. Technically, if it's not OEM at the time the vehicle was supplied it is considered an 'extra'.
There's a landmark case where someone had their wheels stolen from an Audi...
