Hi guys! Looking for some advice:
I've had the rack off while changing exhaust manifold.
After reconnecting the UJ, I'm confused about the purpose/fitting of the cam nut and associated cover.
The nut seems to lock up against the shaft when the bolt is tightened, is that correct? The flat on...
I'm having this problem too, on my new (to me) 172 Cup. Immediately thought shocks but they appear to be dry... All I can think is they've either had it and are not yet leaking, or there is another problem, possibly worn bushes/ball joints/rod ends. I'll be refreshing all of these components...
Sounds like you could do with a Whiteline adjustable rear ARB, rather than lowering springs. Lowering your ride height will do nasty things to your geometry which is not ideal for a track car. http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/main.asp?sitepages=suspension geometry
Remember that shocks have no...
If you want to get it off fleabay, then yes, that's the one I've got. Same prod. code etc. Haven't had them fitted yet though, hopefully later this week.
Depends what size wheels you have, I don't understand why anybody would buy 205/50/15 over 195's given the difference in price. Otherwise I've just had PE2s and they seem great.
Pros won't noticeably lower the car, I put them on after buying the car with Apex 40mm springs which give an awful ride and don't do much for handling. Personally I think the handling might be better with the drop that the sportlines would give, certainly either set will do.
Mine did that, could hear the knocking quite easily so replaced the shock. As for the screeching, depends on tyre compound, some screech some don't. Try swapping them around and see if the sound moves.
[EDIT] My shock was leaking all over the shop, have a check. ;)
That's the warning light saying you should have already changed gear. :rasp:
It's there to (hopefully) stop you from hitting the limiter in every gear, for maximum output I would change at 6.5 ~ 7krpm.
EDIT: Nice clean ph2! Splitter looks good, which one is it?
Crikey I was gonna say great for the 26th over those other dates as they were taken, however, i then remembered 26th is ma dads birthday! What luck?!?!
I'll try to catch the next one. :(
I believe that in dry conditions, more air = more grip, not 100% sure in damp or wet. I run 32/30 f/r with 16" Proxes which is great in the dry but needs weight transferring to the front in the wet.
Apex springs are a nightmare, I had them. Try Eibachs, I have pros, they're supposedly around standard height but they are stiffer. Sportlines will be stiffer and lower but better than Apex IIRC.
Hello all, I just drove my car for the first time in nearly a week and it turns out my rear right shock is bummed so I need some advice on what to replace it with. The car is on standard shocks and Proline springs.
I was thinking of Konis, but is it possible/worth doing to get just the rears...
Reset the ECU by pulling the power for 30 mins or so, then it'll learn a better setup with the new bits, give it a good thrashing for a bit (all the revs and varying throttle positions) and use all the electrics etc. Worked wonders for me when I put my JMS induction on, of course a remap would...
Sorry, I might have missed what the problem was, let me clear it up.
This should be the decat for your otherwise standard exhaust, are you having trouble fitting it or is it the wrong one?
I think brakes are more of an issue than the suspension... As long as they're the right offset etc for your setup, need to make sure they clear the brakes.
Have you stolen my car? ;)
Doubtful related, I'd guess it needs synchros & a CV joint, I think that's what mine needs. Might be exhaust banging though.
Haha brilliant. I was kind of preparing to fork out a shed load of cash on exhaust. Yoz it is then...
Now where am I going to spend all my money, matched inlets? :rasp:
What's the phs1 cat?
As per my avatar, I have a ph1, it's got a double barrel cat on it. The pipes look a bit narrow for 170~ hp IMO, is that the right one?
PS.
I keep meaning to book my car in with you, Fred. I'll PM in a sec once I've thought up what I need doing. :rasp:
Bit of a hijack (saves starting a thread), but I was thinking about a similar setup to this:
182 Manifold
Sport/high flow cat
S/S cat back (can't decide on custom or y0z)
I thought the 182 manifold gave good torque gains and smoothed the whole torque curve, would I be better off (for the...
