Sounds like the same problem yes, but generally this is caused by your tracking being WAY out.
One front wheel pulls your in one direction and the other wheel in the other direction. I've had that before without having to change the tie rod ends. You can get your tracking checked for free. If...
I have had a similair problem when it was my immobiliser
Symtpoms are
1. Slot key in fast and turn, swing and stop
2. Slot key in at usual pace and then turn, nada ( just a click )
3. Check your immobiliser, if it's flashing after about 3 seconds while the key is in, thats your fault!

Sounds like a power issue. Look for the battery under the hood. On top of the battery should be an encasing. If you open the encasing there should be fuses. Check each fuse is ok.
Thats my guess matey!
good luck!
Hmmm, I would say your map sensor, but I don't think it would put your car into limp mode.
Is it only when you put your pedal to the metal :) or when acceleration rather fast as well?
A while ago my ECU blew up.
I was abit of a wally and I tried to swap the battery over while revving the engine ( this can be done in diesel cars, although maybe that was a few years ago! ) Anyway I blew the ECU. So I changed it.
I am going to throw it away, but if anyone wants it, maybe it...
Use the MOT test finder on (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-mot )here to find a local council testing center. They don't fix car's so at least you know they won't try to bleed your for cash
Nope Ceronne.. haven't seen anything about a Cheltenham meet. I know there are a few people around the area, but I don't think anyone organised a meet.
Would be a good idea. Maybe if we can get numbers we can sort something out?

Cheers Darren!
If you asking me about a Cheltenham meet, I am not sure... Haven't seen anything about one. Anyone know if there is a Cheltenham meet, or has been. Wait... let me do a search :P
Aloha peeps
Been in Cheltenham for a while now, and have had my 172 cup for around 2 years. (Fecking LOVE this car!). But I've never really seen if there are any locals?
If anyone is around in the Cheltenham/Gloucester area, give me a shout. Maybe we can meet up for a drink or two. The...
Hmm, just a thought hear ( and don't go murdering my post if this is stupid ) But I think it may have something to do with the fuel delivery system. Try the fuel filter.
If it idles fine and revs up fine when standing still but when you up the speed it doesn't shift, it may not be getting...
Just thought about something.
when I got my car washed, the guy used a pressure washer. So I can guess as soon as I drove out, and it entered into limp mode it was due to moisture. I think it would be prudent for me to not that the cover for my fuse box is missing. I will get one and put it on...
Hi guys
Went to the car wash on Saturday. As I drove out, my car went into limp mode ( Clio 172 cup). The light in the centre of the dashboard came on ( looks like a heartbeat). Took the car home not being able to drive above 2.5k rpms.
Switched it off, started the car again about an hour...
Your forgot to put in the mileage of your car :P
But yeah, it looks like ignition problems. My car idles pretty well. It isn't that lumpy. But I have had previous experience with a car ( previous skyline) that had the spark plugs go, which caused to it rev up irregularly through the rev range...
Spark plugs come to mind...?? When was that changed last?
How well does it idle? There could also be a sticky throttle body ( this could be the case, but it does seem a little unlikely)
The other side to it with be the engine management system. If the engine managment system is being fed the...
When you tried bump starting it, did you make sure you disengaged the immobiliser with the key? Maybe a good idea to lock the car, unlock it and then bump start it asap.
Hope this helps!
Heya
So my stop and battery light kicked in this weekend. Read a few threads and decided it be my alternator. :)
The stop and start light came on, I figured it was the alternator
We brought out a multimeter to test it. A friend hooked it up. I can't remember the reading, but is was low...
UPDATE... Got them at APD for +- £80 with bearing seperate. Got the garage to fit them, and they pressed it in at no extra charge. So saved all round :)
Howdy peeps
Where did you guys get the discs from? I have a 172 cup and I am being quote +-£50 but no bearings attached??? ( from APD)
Where would you guys recommend... and at what price?
