Hey guys, got the car back to the dealership in which i brought it from end of last december, basicaly the bottom end of the engine left hand side got a massive hole in it, dealership said they would need to take it in to see what caused to the problem but i will be lookin at 2-4k to fix.

thing is it only just done 56k, i put it in for an early 72k (5years) in april, absolutely gutted, im now unable to get to work, so hoping warrenty will cover it.
However, something like what i have described shouldnt happen to a 5 year old car that has always been well serviced and maintained...

On way home tonight under normal driving conditions on a typical b road I experienced a very loud bang/explosion from the front of the car followed by the cabin filling up instantly with black smoke, dash lighting up and power...
cheers jay, got mot and car will fail with the current brakes, you could lift car off ground with the lip on the discs :)
so hense the reason im upgrading, garage said they will bleed fit and mot car all at the same time.

I loved the LCR from the performance point of view, its very good, but in all fairness it was just to practical and a bit boring, I have decided to go back to my old 172cup as twisties and sound from the mods i have done is smile making, will miss the perfomance though in a straight line.
Been a little while since i posted here, managed to keep my 172cup and had the enjoyment of driving a LCR for the past few months but im simply not happy, im going to go back to my cup, its simply more fun!!! will miss the power though the 225 engine provides, I appreciate if i wanted similar...

Well after moving over to the Seat LCR 225 from my beloved 172cup, im homesick and have decided to try and move back, will be looking to get a vee, (money dictates phase1 only) can anyone advise is there is any known problems with the 2001 phase 1 models that I need to be aware of...
Well, I have now got both cars, and to be honest the clio has the slight edge in perfomance upto 45ish past that though the seat seems to eat the road up, handling wise feels very similar, just a little bit heaveier, suppose if my clio wasnt modified then the differences would be more apprent...

Hi Nigel, many thanks for posting, their is a yellow coupe sat just up the road from me day in day out and im now fighting the urge to rob it.. :), i currently have a 172cup with usal mods, remap,inlets,ik +caf and looking at the costs to bring my car up any more simply cannot be justified...
Stick with my 02 172cup with Inlet + Remap + IDK 50k on clock

if you get caf go for a little bigger diameter () i got 76mm and it was a very very very tight fit which required cutting the supporting wire circles to fit, for 80ish
