Should I buy a Clio sport for a daily ?

No its not terrible but over a certain mileage a day its worth considering as its not briliant.

Should I buy a Clio sport for a daily ?

Mk3 is not great on fuel so depends on your commute distance

    Does this look terminal!

You laugh but I had some sequential gearboxes from 90's peugeot touring cars that had all had their casings repaired with jb weld. Might get you out of a fix as an emergency get you home measure but you can see that fatigue crack go a fair way round that casing. As you are home already it...

    Brake fluid

If you are planning on running the CL Brakes RC5 in the next 5 months then Motul RBF660 is about the minimum I would run. Otherwise go for the cheaper ATE Type200 or SL6 and see how you get on.

Midlife crisis + understanding wife = New Toy

Heres a link for the better times :D https://www.kamracing.co.uk/car-tuning/renault/renault-clio-mk2/engine/renault-clio-mk2-renault-oe-auxiliary-belt-kit-rs-172-182-air-con.html What suspension is on it at the moment. Looks a decent ride height. As for the loud exhaust - mid silencers do...

Midlife crisis + understanding wife = New Toy

Great car. I think the mk2 got some fantastic colour options through the years This is most certainly one of them. Glad it has not got the optional stripes. I wasnt a fan.. This!! We work with Chris all the time. Great work ethic and will take care of the car whilst he does any work I have...

    Brake fluid

Yes. Your average oem pad will overheat before something like ATE typ200. However the CL are designed to run at extremely high temperatures and usually the fluid becomes the weak point which is why you would need something more top end. For more critical race situations we run thermal backing...

    Brake fluid

Ok. If you are running pagids then you can run some of the cheaper stuff. However when you upgrade to CL brakes - because they are a metallic compound theres a bit more heat transfer to the caliper and fluid than a ceramic based pad so you want the best you can.

    What pads are you using?

    Brake fluid

Usually with no air 1 bottle will flush through the clio.

    Brake fluid

If you use the car just on the road I probably would go ATE Typ200. The Motul is great for track use but might be a little over specced for road. RBF600 is slightly cheaper if you want to stick to that brand. We can supply all of the above here and others like Castrol SRF which have a really...

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

This is why I can’t get turbo conversions out of my head. Modernises the car massively :-)

    Gaming headphones

still the best to get? I think I’ll need something for a bit of gaming the next few weeks. Do you have issues with the sound volume?

    Engine Oil

I tend to use expensive Ester based synthetic oils on my cars that see sustained high revs and heat. The daily just gets more regular service with a cheaper synthetic

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

Engine out for a clutch change I think though with the TT! If not I've heard its a big job.

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

You know what. Its all valid points. The engine is torquey but lacks character due to the VVT. Its a very linear power delivery and I've always found it a little difficult to adjust to. The car will shift along at a great pace though without you getting a thrill from the engine coming on cam...

    New 182 Trophy owner #175

Theres a slash cut version inwardly rolled straight cut - this sticks out a little further Then the RS192 version which is a bit in between We do all of the Scorpion versions here

    Other optons to PMS shifter

The CAE shifters are for cars with gear cables, but the 172 and 182 have a bar to the gearbox. One is relatively simple. The issue for the businesses wanting to play catchup to PMS is they have to design a system that still seals the interior from the outside without breaching copyright on the...

Look in the mirror, slap yourself a few times whilst shouting IDIOT! :D That is spot on. I've an inwardly rolled Scorpion and the straight cut looks so much better. Go look at some local Ford RS or ST's and refocus

    172 Cup Turbo Conversion

I'm sort of in the same situation so I'm first going to fit a plate diff and see if I'm happy there. Thats still £2k though. The turbo conversions can relatively easily be reverted back so I dont think its a horrible route to go down.

    Oil smells like petrol

Drain the oil properly and get a good smell of that oil. If it reeks of petrol it could be a few things. Worn piston rings, overfuelling causing bore wash amongst other things...

Looks better paint than mine lol I can help on the parts you need. We've got a reward point scheme which is well worth signing up for if you are wanting lots of parts ongoing. Lots of people fit the Scorpion exhaust. I'd recommend a mid silencer version though as its a deep sound without being...

Solid Top Mounts - What to buy?

I've sold the AST and currently sell the both the Pure Motorsport and BC Racing ones. PMS solid top mounts are the best fixed position one on the market. If you are wanting a strut brace its a neat solution. I'm not 100% convinced theres any structural benefit but it all fits nicely. The BC...

    Suspension Info - Bilstein
