I'd have thought the service history alone would have helped get it shifted, as it's longer than my......
I think I'll drop it a tad more, and see what happens. It's a decent little car, but I don't need it, and I want a new motorbike ; )
So what shall I do with this bad boy? Not many bites at £2k on here, and have had little interest on Autotrader.
V tempted to get it cleaned up dent wise/ alloys, and punt on again, but it's spending more money to get money. Seems like a false economy really!
Thoughts? Is it too dear at 2k -...
It owes me £2200, so was hoping to have hit the £2k mark at least.
Reckon it's worth spending more on it, to get the rear quarter tidied as well as the alloys, or just punt it on as is?
BG 182 - 99k
FSH - 5 owners, inc me now twice! (Don't ask!)
Cambelt/ dephaser etc all done in the last 500 miles.
New exhaust mounts
New drivers side window motor
New rear wiper arm
New front discs and pads
I paid for a £600 inspection/ overhaul at Two Techs, Dartford last week, after wanting...
Excellent answer. I appreciate the detail sir!
I played the Rush of Blood game at theirs. The pig abbatoir level was something else!
I'll do some research this week and may well suprise the wife with one next month. Gonna set me back a fair whack once you get the "hand rods" or whatever you...
Holy thread bump.
Just played on one and enjoyed it (felt a bit sick though!)
What games are must haves? Probably going to get one soon as the wife was loving it, so a good reason to get her into it!!
So it's back on the drive after a big old check and run through at Two Techs up in Dartford. Terry mentioned, that it was a nice clean (ish) example, and that I should keep it due to it being so original. Only got the BTM exhaust from Fred as a mod.
As annoying as it is, @TheEvilGiraffe was...
In the safe hands of the lads at Two Techs. They're a tad busy, so have left it with them for the next week or 2 to get a full diagnosis!
Sis has now said she's lost the spare key as well..... yay ; (
I know! Like I'd be such as an asshole as to sell her a car that needed loads of work done on it....... oh wait?!!
Yep.
I always said to her, take it to a specialist, which she didn't do. Proper false economy when he charged £550 labour for the cambelt/ dephaser/ waterpump/ aux belt job.
My...
I'm well tempted to just get it nice and tidy and keep it for the odd B road blast tbh!
Every time I see someone on here with a nice BG, I think back to mine.
We shall see, so watch this space!
The thing is, this mechanic is her husbands mates dad, who they seem to trust, however I never have.
I'm gonna get the car back this weekend, and take it to my mechanic to give it an overhaul, and run over all the things that have been done on it of late.
Then I'm gonna get the small ding on it...
From mechanic - "It's ok there's nothing to pay, I'm going to try to manually adjust the belt to see if I can override the spring which tightens the belt."
That sounds like a dodgy fix!
I'm gonna get the thing down here to my old garage in Ashford, as the chief mechanic has his own 172, so knows...
But surely if she had the big cambelt/ dephaser job done, this should be fine? Or am i missing something? I know little in regards mechanics ; (
I just don't trust this mechanic she's been using at all!
New update from Sister:
"So apparently now the tension belt is knackered on the car? The part is 200 plus labour!!
Basically it’s making this really bad screeching noise when you turn the tyres parking but it’s not the tyres - it’s some belt thing."
I don't have a clue, but I presume this is...
