Next up was prepping the engine to go back in. I had been doing this a bit by bit for a while now but thought i'd just fire it up on here in one post. We decided that we wouldn't touch the engine internally until we have the car running and have done a few practice sessions and potnetially...

I ordered some wheel studs to replace the normal wheel bolts from Elite Developments.. Makes it so much easier to change wheels/tyres.
I got the 75mm ones.
I also went to get the tyres fitted to the wheels.. The garage did a good job and for once i left without scratched alloys! (been...
@andy007 @cpaterson76
Yeah they're 110 at rear and 90 up front!. You can spec whatever you like from Curtis though.. these where what we came up with for a Track only spec.... luckily for me I share all the costs with @Jenbo so it makes alot more things affordable

My order of TD Pro Race 1.2s finally came too!.. 15", graphite satin.. Didn't want to run spacers to get the offset I wanted, so ordered a custom offset.

Front end was next...... Parts all ready for assembling.
I fitted some new powerflex centre ARB bushes. I've read so many things about these being a pain to fit and that "you need a big crowbar and a few guys". To me that's just not right, so I thought id investigate.
I put the new...

As i'd fitted all the parts in the cockpit that I could, I started to build up the suspension assemblies. Starting with the Rear Axle.
Modified axle and axle mounts back from powder coat.
I also made the decision, due to the state of the original bolts (a few I had to cut off as they...
Yeah there's quite a few good lil championships, will do some more research for next year on which would be best.
Thanks @scotiamr2t , @RMDavis
Haha, cheers Tony.... that's what its all about though isn't it... having the car on axles stands staring at it and never driving it?... 😅
Cheers!, yeah it's coming together nicely now, hard part is over, just need to built it all back up now

Steering column/boss/quick release were next on the agenda.
I started out by cutting down the column/bulkhead, bearing/seal (it has a large flange for mounting to the sound deadening) You can just see the faint outline of where I cut it half way down the shaft.
I then installed the...

I then started on the front brake lines.
I fitted the t-piece to the little aluminium bracket i made and riveted onto the chassis leg. I also added some anti chaffing rubber on the corner just incase it comes into contact with the chassis. It shouldn't but i'd rather play it safe.
I...

After the shell was painted it was time to send off all the suspension components to be powder coated/painted.
Here's some of the bits that went off to be powdercoated.
And the final result!.. all laid out ready to go.
The build can finally start..
Custom Seat rails in.
Trimmed...

Yeah you can get stuff delivered.. couldn't tell you how much though sorry.. If you ring up ask for a guy called Jody Bowman, he's really helpful.. i just went through the boot floor as the holes line up well with the pivots of the rear axle and keep the lines away from the rear wheels/tyres...
Haha, i wouldn't go that far, but thanks!! I just try to do the best job I can..
Yeah I'm really happy how the gear lever came out, just cant wait to see how it performs on track!

Hi mate, the hardline normally comes in 3m lengths.. but you can buy as much or as little as you want, ATEC can cut it down to suit.. There is no minimum purchase amount [emoji106]

Hi mate.. looking good!.. what other championships have you been looking at?.. I was thinking of tricalore, but probably going to go down the route of the trackday championship now as going half with a mate and the tracktime for the money is great and the championship is growing with some decent...
Hey mate, yeah just using that one for now until i switch to the AP pedal box.. not 2 fussed with a slightly longer travel in pedal.. wont be much difference.. i prefer to just fit a t piece instead of seperate ports on MC.. plus when i fit the pedal box i will need the t pieces as those master...

As I said, Brake lines were the next job on the job list. As I have previously said on my thread, these are to be ran through the cockpit using ATEC Fluid Systems aluminium hardline tubing and machined aluminium tube fittings. These lines are so light and are protected with a polyamide...
Been a busy time both in the garage and out. Got a lot of progress done on the car whilst starting a new job at the same time!.. Finally all settled down (well as much as it can) so I have time to do a few more updates.
