Hello guys,
After listening to your ideas me and @Stopherson want to organise a RR day in the south west. It looks like there is a lot of interest so hopefully this will be a bit more successful than the other events we've tried to organise.
We will need your input as I know the SW is a...
Update time:
The intercooler was properly mounted last week and it looks good.. As you can hardly see it :) Also the exhaust was mounted and I've relocated the battery to the boot now. All the boost pipes are in place just need to be jubilee clipped up but as I'm having so many electrical...
Picked up a new ECU, UCH and Key locally from a chap that is breaking a 182, plugged it all in and it works spot on. The next task was to finish wiring in the Specialist Components ECU which went relatively well, only a few slip ups. Dan then calibrated the sensors.. and we started it up after...
Update time..
On Friday I started to look at the wiring loom and ECU and fully understand the term 'French Electronics'. The throttle body wouldn't 'whine' as they do when the ignition is on so @Irbone @Dan@SJM and myself spent around 2 days trying to find the fault.. and yesterday evening we...

They are the two I used. I removed the dashboard, then removed the heaters so there was space for...

Tidied up the dash this week, wired in all the gauges and replaced the dashboard...

Then last night it was off to Phoenix Exhausts for some measurements :)
Boost hoses arrived this week, plans are to finish wiring in the ECU, install the PH1 Fuel Sender...
Quick update, PMS A/C delete kit mounted and belt ordered. Coolant hoses put back in along with the radiator. Speak plugs, leads, inlet and cool pack fitted. Had some help from @Irbone yesterday with a few little bits and the routes of the boost hoses. They've now been ordered and the car is...
So the engine went in today! Was a good feeling to finally get it back in the bay and looking like a car again! Thanks to @Stopherson for the help. We discovered a few issues such as the downpipe being too close to the oil return from the turbo which I'll have to overcome but it isn't too much...
Finished assembling the engine today, clutch and gearbox are now on along with the loom. Been a long time coming but it's finally ready to 'drop' back in the car. Thanks to @Dan@SJM for all the help along the way, couldn't have done it without you.
Hopefully be able to update Monday when me...
Being halfway through doing a DIY conversion myself and having been in @Dan@SJM and @Stopherson boosted clios I can say I'm very much looking forward to mine being done. My only advice would be maybe have a ride in one first to see what they can do. Andy has a good reputation and I haven't seen...
Yes it is mate! Itching to drive it now :)
Thank you mate :)
Thanks mate, and to be honest I'm not sure, I don't want to add it up! But I probably will when it's all done..
Bit of an update, the engine is pretty much built now, I just need to do the belts but they will be done with the assistance of Dan..
During the couple of sunny days we had last week I made some progress on the interior, fitting my new wheel, roll cage and the Recaros with sabelt harnesses...
I've not heard any bad things about the one in Taunton, but have never used it myself so couldn't give an opinion. But as above posts have said I'd probably stick with an actual garage with a decent reputation.
