I found after a long stint on track my brakes started to fade so bought a kit off eBay and just with fresh air venting into the wheel arch solved the problem.
I was using Carbon Lorraine RC6 pads with a Tarox F2000 discs and standard calipers.
Should’ve stuck with that setup as it scrubbed off...
About 10 or so years ago I had ktec DTH ITB’s /gen 90 fitted with a bottom end refresh and went from 169 bhp to 202 bhp 172ftlb of toque. Engine was bulletproof!
Then a couple of years ago I had some Schrick cams fitted while having cam belt done and agained around 15 bhp. Has made the engine...
What about swapping out to the ph2 fuel system and getting rid of the regulator in the engine bay? My 2001 ph1 has that setup
pretty sure that @Ph1 Tom had an ITB kit with a regulator in it.
Hope that helps… good luck with them (y)
@MLB there not the Puremotorsport version. I got the bells off eBay a few years ago and had Hi spec make the rotors to suit the bells. If I was doing it again I’d definitely go for puremotorsport version.
There’s definitely enough bolt length to fit those BYC plates as I was going to get them...
I use a 15mm spacers on my ultraleggera’s so they fit. I’ve also had 5mm taken off the caliper and using 285mm discs. Normally do 3 or 4 trackdays and road blasts a year and never had a problem even though they look pretty tight to the wheel
I’ve got the 197 brembo conversion on my ph 1 with et38 ultraleggera’s and 280mm discs. I’ve had to run a 15mm spacer as the wheel is conical and narrows by the spokes. Admittedly the brembo calipers are bigger than the wilwood ones
I’ve had the hi comp bottom and ITB’s for 8 years.
When I had standard cams in my itb hi comp engine it was fine but since I’ve had high lift Schrick cams put in and mapped I’ve had to increase the butterfly’s opening so the engine wouldn’t stall once warm.
Since screwing in the idle screw to...
I’d of thought an increase in length of the oil system would drop the pressure.
I know some people have modified the oil pump to increase pressure.
I’ve had a 16 row cooler fitted for years on F4R Clio and had no problems but it may have an effect on your turbo charged F4R. I’d be looking at...
My track Clio. Been modifying it since 2008..local track to me is Thuxton and Castle Combe but my favourite is Donington. Won’t be doing any days this year as weddings are f@@king expensive!
Is it just a service you need doing?
I’ve been using SR auto near Viables. He just changed my starter motor on my ph1 Clio 172 and sorted my mrs mini out when it wouldn’t start. Another garage had said it needed a new engine!! He’s a master technician and probably cheeper than ktec.
I’ve had my forged engine since 2012. Admittedly it isn’t a daily but I track it and drive it hard every time I go out in it. Never had any problems in all those years apart from replacing injectors.
I found carbon larrain RC6 the best on track on mine with them over the DS 1:11. Especially with scrubbing off the speed. Brembo max discs are a good shout. I had tarox 2000 discs with RC6 pad and they are awesome. With ducting I can go half hour with no fading at all.
These type of pads last...
The chances of heavy rain has gone down now. I’ll be at Chievley for 7am still. If some of you guys are there I’ll be a follower as don’t know any good roads up to CM. If no ones there it’ll be M and A roads up for me.
