Holy thread revival! I don't know if there's more than one BTB exhaust company, but I called the one in Daventry and they said I'd be looking at a couple of grand for a custom exhaust from them for my 172 Cup.

Holy thread revival! I've got a Pure Motorsport sports cat and silenced 'stealth' system on my 172 Cup, but it's still too loud for me. I'm thinking of going down the custom exhaust route to get something quieter made up – anyone used a Powerflow franchise in the South East area? I'm in Kent.
Back in another 172 Cup that I bought from @Mbeau (my fourth 1*2), based near West Malling. Had a good run to Camber on the weekend with him and his Iceberg 172 Cup, which is now up for sale in the classifieds section.

Exactly my thinking. But it does need belts and probably swivel joints looking at MOT history so I'd rather know a bit more about the history of it before taking the plunge!
Quite interested in this 200, seems a good price BUT it doesn't have any service history. I've spotted in the photos it has a CS sticker so wondering if it was owned by someone on here who might be able to provide some more info on it...
Normally I'd stick with the halogens, but as this is my daily and 'winter is coming', I'd rather not have to put up with candlelight when I'm driving in the dark! Plus I think with the new MOT regs you don't need headlight washers on anything pre-2008.
I picked up a broken set of Xenons off @H2MRK and fixed them for a fiver with the BMW adjusters. Another handy thread on here! Cleaned them up with the Autoglym headlight restorer kit – not perfect but pretty decent for a cordless drill job.

Haha thanks. The hangers are knackered so I got it near perfect with cable ties, but I've now got Powerflex mounts to go in so hopefully it'll still look good (and stop rattling!) once that's done.
While the Cup seats are probably the comfiest out of the lot, I really wanted a set of Trendlines from when I had my Trophy. Picked up a set with leather/alcantara rears from a lad on here, so those are in now too. Another before and after! Much better, although I forgot how high these sit on...
Picked up a Fabia splitter from my local Skoda dealership after reading about them on here and looks great for the price. Got a bargain RS192 system so that's now on, along with fresh OEM rear discs/pads.

Yes I think you're right, the alarm must have a standalone back up battery. Just seems bizarre that I haven't had the issues on my other 1*2s and I'm pretty sure it's the OEM alarm – no signs of anything aftermarket. Hopefully the airbag doesn't go off in my face tonight and that'll be the end...
Well this didn't work sadly.
And neither did this :( Really don't know what's going on with it. When the alarm does go off, the only way I can get it to stop is to start the engine, and even then it still takes a few seconds to stop.
If I do this, is there definitely no risk that the airbag...
