My thoughts exactly! Didn't have this issue on my other two 1*2s before this one. No beeps when I lock or unlock it.
The car was unlocked when I disconnected the battery, prior to it deafening me and annoying the neighbours last night ?
Never had this issue before, but now on my third Clio and when I disconnect the battery the alarm keeps going off. I need to disconnect it to remove the airbag to fit a Sparco steering wheel, but the bloody thing won't stop going off!
Any thoughts on this? Can the alarm be disarmed to stop this...
I need another Clio in my life! I've had a Trophy and a 172 Cup but I always wanted a RB 182 and this thread isn't helping. If anyone is thinking of selling this year please let me know, would consider anything although it'll be for road use so I don't want a track build/stripped car.
Think I paid £160 which is more expensive than other options, but it was exactly what I wanted. I think Brexit has caused the price to shoot up though, over £200 now from Tweeks!
I've been meaning to post this for ages! I bought a brand new pair of Corbeau Clubsport seats last year, can't believe how much of a bargain they are at £150 each. They're close to me in Kent too, so easy to pop down.
I couldn't find any 3 point harnesses I liked either, so I asked Corbeau to...
My image has disappeared for some reason! And can't edit the post either, so thought I'd re-post it for anyone interested.

How does £7500 take your fancy?! :dizzy: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Renault-Clio-2-0-16v-Renaultsport-Cup-3dr-/282121948645?hash=item41afc74de5:g:jzgAAOSwCfdXofla
Awesome, thanks for the feedback @Luke
I might have to give you a shout next time I'm passing Basingstoke for a passenger ride if you're free and don't mind! It's not that I'm bored of the QS, I love it and haven't even had it a year yet. But it's fairly low mileage, and I think I'll get best...
Love it! Interesting, as I've currently got a QS and I'm thinking of making the same move. Although my QS is currently at 280bhp, and I'm concerned I'm going to miss the boost and power. Have been considering the BBR300 upgrade, but not sure if boosting an MX-5 will ruin it. Did you ever test...
Awesome cheers all, Solution Finish sounds like it could be the answer then! Will take a look at it. Although saying that, if they were never black to start with (I just assumed that), might not make much of a difference anyway.
I'm assuming that a long time ago, the front grills on all 1*2s were black. The one on my Trophy and now my Cup is a pale shade of grey, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on restoring it back to its former glory?
Cheers @Tim. @adamlstr and @172_Tom for all the extra input! I'm going to speak to Avon as I know they're developing a harder compound ZZS which I'd like to try, but if they're not ready just yet I'll probably go AD08R or NS2R. Will probably change my mind again by Monday!
Edit: @172_Tom that's...
It's a tough one @Tim. but ultimately I think I want a tyre that'll feel comfortable on the road in the dry as the priority that's also quite good in the wet. When we were in Wales last year my PS3s were just brilliant, but going fast on track is very different to the road! Weren't you running...
Nope wasn't me @cjgower, I haven't been driving the car much yet as I'm focusing on getting the car prepped and ready for track. Should be finished and ready end of next week. Hoping there'll be some more South East meets though soon so I can meet some more likeminded Clio owners in the area!
Tyres will make a hell of a difference – when I bought my Trophy I think it had 3 different brands on it! Needless to say a fresh set of PS3s sorted out the handling. I see you're in Brighton, if you're ever up in Kent you'll be more than welcome to have a go in mine to see how the suspension...
@MiseryStreak I've just gone from a Trophy to a 172 Cup. Didn't really like the Recaros that much, useless on track. I've bought a pair of Corbeau Club Sport seats for £300, and ordered BC Racing fully adjustable coilovers (£770) which'll probably be better than the Sachs too, and won't cost...
Cheers all. They've already had 4.5mm milled off the caliper where the bracket connects, but realistically needs another 3/4mm off the caliper or bracket to bring it in away from the wheel. I really don't want to start grinding or filing the calipers on the edges as it'll look crap and will be a...
Test fitted the calipers tonight to try and work out spacer requirements for my ET35 15" Pro Race 1.2s. Couple of questions – I thought I'd need spacers to stop the inside of the spokes hitting the front face of the caliper. Turns out the only interference is the edges of the caliper hitting the...
I'm looking at the options for a daily tyre to include wet track use, as I have a second set of wheels with Avon ZZRs for dry track.
I normally run Michelin PS3s, but have been recommended Uniroyal Rainsports or Federal RSRs that'll both do well in the wet. Any experience on these and what...
@scooby-93 how did you get on with this in the end? I've got the same brakes to fit to the same wheels. Did the 10mm spacers suffice, and did you have to move the weights? Cheers!
Thanks for the advice all, and the pics too! General consensus so far is 330 would be better, so I might go down that route. Might be sad and make up some different sized templates to see what feels best in the car. Will post up some pics after I've made my mind up and got something fitted.
I'm stuck between these two Sparco steering wheels, one is 300mm and the other is 350mm. Does anyone have one fitted, or any experience of a similar sized wheel as I'm sure there'll be quite a big difference in feel between the two?
Option one - Sparco 300 wheel (300mm)...
I know its been two years since this thread has been touched, but I've got the same conundrum. How did you get on in the end @incy-spider? Recommend the Billies?
Just read through all 10 pages of this thread, awesome build! Looks like I'll be heading to Corbeau soon for a pair of seats for my Cup. Watching this with interest.
Cheers both. Was doing some more research last night and came across Kam Racing, don't know how I haven't found it before, seems like a good site with decent prices. The BC Racing setup is £692 while Bilstein is £624, so I guess I'd be mad not to pay the extra £68 for the BC to have the full...
Sorry if this has been done to death, but I'm keen to get opinions on the best coil overs for my 172 Cup for under a grand. It's a weekend car and will do a mix of road and track driving with a few sprints hopefully.
Any first hand experience? Bilstein B14 seems to stand out, but no adjustable...
