On another note, does your "recycle air" button work, is it set on closed or open?
Test this by turning the fan on full, press the button, you should hear a change in note as the flap closes, and then again when it opens.
I would suggest you check your scuttle water drains first, before you do anything else, there is one each side of the car, and one in the middle.
The middle one is more than likely blocked, then this will allow water to get in through the air box and into the heater.
Remove the sound proofing...
I run a Saxo electric pump on my race car, although a little heavy, it has never given me any problems in 5yrs, just make sure if you get one, that the bits of pipe are with it, then just braze the Clio pipes to them, job done.
It's a well known fact, that tracked clios have trouble with the reservoir overflowing with the heat.
I've said nothing of boiling fluid, it just takes another problem out of the equation. :)
On another note, I may have said this before, but I also use any dot 5 fluid thats going, no fancy stuff for me, bleed them once through the season, (but they don't need doing), and never ever have any pedal feel trouble, always rock solid.
