I don't care what it looks like providing it weighs no more than the 200, and can be relatively easily tuned to about 240bhp. Combine this with handling comparable to a 200 and I'd put my name on the list today.
There are members on here that have 172's on 130+K miles on the original clutch. Clutch is not a common problem. A modest torque output and linear power delivery doesn't put much strain on it. Unless its been launched constantly all its life.
There are a few really good buying guides on here...
Stand up periodically. Apparently I fell over a few times haha.
The problem was worsened by the Fosters, stubbies, desperados and tequila I consumed too. That Vodka is power though. Wow.
That supermarket was a joke. Nick wasn't in much of a better frame of mind than me.
The situation was made worse by the fact I had ice melting in my bags.
I wish we'd have had more time to go over to see Failsport. I wanted to do it on Sunday but then things went tits up and we ended up leaving.
I only got chance to speak to Dave, Mike and Ryan on the pistonheads thing on Friday.
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
As long as it handles and stops as well as the 200 and has a bit more straight line pace and economy what's not to like.
I'm confident it will be a cracking car, they've yet to make a bad RS Clio.
Very crude way of estimating power. "Getting off the line" is more about grip and the cars ability to put its power down but most of all the driver.
Regardless of power I'm sure drivability has increased a lot with the extra power.
If I did the miles to warrant a diesel I'd be happy with either an 80 or 100. I've got a lot of time for the dci Clio's, I think they're a great engine. Much better than any of the petrols, except the F4R of course.
I definitely should have got one instead of my 1.2 as my first car. Even a 65...
This is mine with and without decat. Its the 182 system with one back box.

I love the system. It doesn't boom on the motorway even with the decat and sounds really nice. Reasonably loud too without being too much.
Those HID's are ridiculous. You need the projector lenses to make them work properly. Your just going to dazzle people and fail its first MOT.
Cars great other than that.
I didn't use that bung thing that stops it going too far back with mine and it fit perfectly. There are that many wires behind there with the ipod lead, bluetooth microphone and connect 2 it just got in the way and stopped it going in far enough.
I've had a decat on mine for about 6 weeks. The light has come on.
I love it though, I don't think I'd ever put the cat back in other than for MOT. I've got the Scorpion SRN019 system on mine and I love it. Its pretty loud under load but doesn't drone on the motorway even with the decat. Its a...
Think I'm going to get mine regassed. It works ok but it could be a lot colder. I love really good aircon. Unfortunately the aircon in Renaults is never any good. I've had three now and they've all been crap.
It all depends how old you are and where you live. I've been insured with flux for three years on a ph1 172, mx5 and now the 182. They've always been competitive right from having the 172 at 19.
