I don't understand how the conversion can take so long. Once they have all the parts in then surely it's only a day or twos labour then off for mapping - is there more to it than this?
How was the VXR on track? I'm interested in them at the minute.
I've got a 172 which is stripped out, bucket seats, coilovers and updated brakes (track focused pads, braided lines and Titan 660 fluid) as a track car. It goes ridiculously well over a lap for such a cheap car - £3500 will get...
I had a SRN019 on my 182 and the fit was great. I wasn't as handy with the spanners back then (no expert now by a long chalk) so I got a garage to fit it and they got it spot on.
The exhaust note with a decat is perfect.
Having been out in this the other night I think it's a great motor. It's very lively and you can really feel that diff working.
Definitely feels a step up over the 200.
I half wish I'd driven one at the Renaultsport track day last month at Oulton Park just to see what they're like, but I chose to drive the 275 Trophy R instead.
One thing I did note about the 220 Trophy is it no quicker than my 15 year old 165bhp ph1 172 which was suprising. I was sat on the...
I'm at Donny tomorrow too Dave. In a silver phase 1 with "Pellet Motorsport" written on the side of it. It's a long (Le Mans related) story.
Will pop over for a chat.
I thought about it but I put mine on the rollers at EFI and it made 165bhp and 155lbft which is perfectly healthy for a standard engine (well has Ktec style IK and Yozza decat exhaust) and I realised there was no point in spending hundreds chasing a few bhp which will make next to no difference...
I'm not a fan of the DS2500's. I've got them on my 172 track car and whilst they're good when warm and they haven't faided on me in three track days they have left deposits on my discs which leads to a vibration under braking. Did the same to my mates 182 and his brothers 225 as well.
I'll be...
Mine isn't a daily mate, it's pretty much track only. I would like to go out in a boosted car, just to see if I think it would make me enjoy the car more.
Thanks for the reply.
It isn't a massive amount - when mixed with rain it's probably about a football sized patch.
I just haven't had time to have a look at it but they were my initial thoughts.
My brothers 1.2 Clio was serviced late last week now we have noticed an oil leak. I'm thinking a likely cause will be either they have reused the sump plug washer or not put the filter on properly. Does that sound about right?
I've not had chance to have a look yet as we only noticed earlier...
