I'm collecting the PC I linked to above tonight  going to see how I get on with it and then might upgrade the graphics card if I need to. Hopefully I'll be able to cap the spend and not go crazy like I have with car parts! It should be good enough for my needs. Pretty much anything would...
Well I can probably push £300 a bit! Really looking for something good all round but want to be able to be able to edit some YouTube videos when I start to do it more seriously.
eBay seems to have quite a few good custom PCs cheaper than ebuyer!
My laptop has finally given up the ghost. Have been looking at getting a new PC from eBay.
Budget £300
Ideally want a 2tb hard drive.
8 cores or mega fast processor
Biggest amount of RAM possible
USB3
Built in wifi
Windows 7 professional
Needs to be able to do video editing
Thanks chaps :)
the car will function normally with the airbag ECU unplugged but you'll just have a light on the dash. The idea of programming is you still get the airbag lights come on when you turn the ignition on and they turn off once the system is checked so it's good for MOTs. I'll PM you later :)
Cheers Dan :) You can send it to me. I've got a remote set up external to the car so can program any custom airbag set up you want and make sure the light doesn't show up.
Bedford
Hmm, where to start, I jest, a little. I'd been watching the forecast all week and was prepared for a rather damp track day, blooming African weather fronts making it lash down. We stayed in Bedford on Friday night so were pretty refreshed for the day, got to the circuit at about...
Thanks for the advice chaps :) The PC was free so it's a shame but by no means am I gutted! Have no idea of the model number, I just copied the spec directly from the system info page. It's HP, that's all I know!
Think I might be best buying one of those pre-built things from ebay with a decent...
I mean if MC/brakes are standard. If the system is designed to not run one it's fine. Personally I'd like to keep everything close to using very OEM parts so if it busts it's a bargain replacement.
I'm deeply saddened you have all this space to do awesome projects and get to tinker in the week while I'm sat here in a chicken coop with no garage or my car. Wah.
Things are moving bloody fast and skill developing at an insane rate! Would love to start welding too. Try and get your hands on a...
Evening Guys,
I'm not really clued up on PC specs but I've been doing some video editing with Vegas 13 recently, it's really jumpy and can't even display a smooth low quality preview. The main video is generally OK although sometimes it's a bit laggy. This is causing a particular problem because...
Definitely a fuel system issue Chris. Look for airbubbles in the fuel lines. At that mileage I would suspect injectors and not pump but have been proven wrong before. If it's pump or more than one or two injectors I'd cut your losses.
Had a mixed weekend with the cup. Good news though, I'm finally ready for next weekend.
It was freezing yesterday but I got all the jobs done I wanted to and was done by about 2. The local autocentre has a Hunter alignment which is great for accuracy so I always take it there. To cut a long...
I used to look at write off cars all day so that's a ding compared to the things I used to see 😂 Hopefully getting it repaired in the next couple of months but no rush really. Lots in the pipeline so update to come!
Cheers Dan. I think I can see some real track use on the horizon which will be nice!
Can't want to see your car done! Will have a read through your updates this evening :)
Evening chaps
@Martin. came down with me today and we got a few bits done to the Cup before hitting Bedford GT in a couple of weeks. Whilst not a particularly exciting list of bits done it's all those small bits which finish it off nicely.
Got the GoPro mounted on the front cross, giving a...
Assume they're going to pay! I'll try and get the video from them if possible as I assume it has CCTV! Would be fun to see. Bus was barely damaged but because it's a yield generator they'll charge for loss of earnings while it's off the road.
It's a book spec cage so I'd expect a fair few bolts! Access wasn't a problem at all. Nothing a spanner and a socket set couldn't get to.
No not at all, no noise from it whatsoever. The rest of the car however is horrificly loud.
Certainly is matey. Yep that's exactly what I was after. Got bored of waiting for it to be produced.
Had a lot of positive comments on it this week! Very very pleased with it, even my mum liked it.
Cheers mate, the sunstrip is an ebay job 8"...
Cage
What an eventful weekend! Friday night, just gone half six, I popped my earplugs in, threw my bags in the car and left Greenwich for the 200 mile drive up to Hull having been mega excited for what lay ahead the next day. Earlier in the week I had spoken to the receptionist at the hotel to...
@Akay thanks matey. Maybe yours is after mine then! You understand correctly with the airbags. If you have a look at the photo on one of the previous slides those are the wires to leave in. I've kept the airbag ecu so the light turns on and off for MOT purposes. It's also used as part of the vin...
Evening chappies
The cold weather has really hit now. We did a bit of final winter work on the cup yesterday before the next track day at Brands in december and it was freezing outside. Managed to get a couple of bits done to the car though.
Brake Ducts - these were actually very easy to fit...
