Have now swapped to a resonated centre section which has made a big difference to the noise.
Will have no problems next weekend now hopefully :).....for noise anyway.
Yeah IAT and CTS both reading correctly. It doesn't appear to be a sensor issue and the map can't change with the OMEX, the sensors can only change where in the map the fueling is.
From our test it's spark related and the lack of strong spark is causing incomplete combustion. This though we...
Just to update it's a spark/fueling issue. @AlexW came down this morning and plugged in his AFR gauge. On idle it's reading correct then as the revs build it become very rich down to 10 and at times 9. When flat out it's fine. Spark from the coil appears to be quite weak.
@bloke yeah, we thought sensors but it seems to only have an air temp sensor on the intake. The omex has its own crank sensors as its acting as a piggy back but the lambda sensor isn't used at all within the map. Coolant and air temp appear to be reading correctly.
Yeah we have, not 100% what to look for really though.
Revs past there no problem, we just noticed it kicked in there particularly badly and it's what caused the noise test fail.
Evening chaps - Post on behalf of @Martin.
Next weekend we're meant to be going to Bedford so are desperately trying to sort this.
On Thursday just gone Mart failed the noise test at Brands due to this misfire but eventually got through...
Sorry chaps I forgot to reply. Thank you :)
The USB is really simple, it just wires into any 12v source. I'll get a pic at the weekend. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252370696746
Yeah, loads of experience with this. It's low fuel pressure, caused by two things, injectors and pump.
If the mileage is low it's likely to be an injector and if higher it's more likely a fuel pump.
Do a leak off test on the injectors to disgnose if on injector is particularly gone.
The FP is...
One of my harnesses had the same so I cut it off and wound it round the bar with a normal bar wrap. It doesn't move and I sealed the end by lightly melting the end like you would with rope.
yeah I don't see why it was 100 db. It's a k tec super sport so nothing unusual. Last year it was 94 or 96 I forget but with dbs being on a log scale I can't understand how it's reached 100.
I've got cams now but I doubt they make any different.
yeah I did, drove it up to the circuit so was on the road for a good 20 minutes prior to the test. They asked for over 5k to measure which was annoying
Right chaps. Recently I took the cup to brands for a noise test and blew 100 db bang on even though I've previously been 94 with the same exhaust but hey ho. I bought a mid section from ktec incase I was ever at a low limit track day. Now, I've booked a day at bedford with a limit of 100 and...
Not a huge amount of changes on the car of late but a few things have happened to me for the better.
First is this after three great years it all came to a close very quickly.
Luckily the second part is me starting a grad job which is very enjoyable so far. Now there's a bit more to spend on...
So pleased that is came out so well in the end. Couple of hose separators an it's a pretty perfect install.
For a little bit more detail on the fittings. We used m5 rubnuts on the cross member to absorb vibration from the engine, seal the hole and for ease of removal if ever needed...
Big changes have happened here Dan! Great commitment to whats becoming a seriously focused track car.
Can't wait to see how the paint turns out as I want to do something similar to mine.
182 mani cat and cat back.
Looks like a recessed ktec system.
Only downside is the cat being welded to the centre section.

It's either 20 minutes if the ECU cover comes off or several hours if it doesn't.
Last time I did it I took the ecu bracket off whole and lightly tapped the cover out.
Everything else is easy, UCH has a clip which goes over the dash frame which you should be able to see on the replacement...
When you say voltage drop that is usually a wire which drops voltage when current passes through. The starter motor earth is the strap from the gearbox to the chassis rail, clean up all contacts on that.
Voltage drop can be tested at each point of the circuit. You test the circuit with no load...
Love the awkward "Cheers" at the end, down with the lads! The more I watch them the more I like them actually, there's clearly a lot more to Schmee than meets the eye. SOL I'm not so sure about, he really needs to up his video game as I think a lot of his subscribers are historic as it doesn't...
I wasn't involved in organising this matey just put the idea out there because I wanted to do one but am not familiar with the regional rep process for things like this. I'd still love to do it and it looks like there's quite a lot of interest now. I'm sure even more could be drummed up through...
I got my 197 springs from Barrie at ALS performance. They're pretty much the same price as the supertech ones if you buy them brand new. £118 last time I spoke to Renault.
Eventually I'm going boost but my demands are quite similar, not too expensive but reliable. I'm going for supertech valves...
I have thought about that actually but to please myself I'd want to do something high quality from the start with a good amount of camera angles etc. Unfortunately car channels don't seem to work unless you have multiple and simultaneous clips of the car and I'd like to give proper editing ago...
Mine's road legal but I can't wait to get a trailer as it's horrible to drive on the road. I'd be screwed if something happened at a track miles from home.
Have been thinking of starting my own channel for ages now but haven't been able to afford the camera gear. Will probably start something quite soon fingers crossed.
Engineering explained has an extremely confused identity. He's car throttle click bait "five things you shouldn't do" kind of stuff now. Shame as his old stuff was great.
