Only hardish landing is the silly jump at Anglesey , but I braked every time I went over it. I’m going to order some longer springs for the front.
I did put a picture of it on Facebook and a guy with the same gaz mounts as mine has the same problem with the drivers side turret
So I’ve been gradually doing little bits for the past week or so now. And I’ve gone one step forward the. Two steps back.
New plugs and leads fitted. Now I have cylinder 2 misfire code. Looks like an injector but that’s the least of my worries.
Whilst working on the car tonight I noticed...
It’s good, I bought it second hand so it was a no brainier. It fits well but I did have to space a few of the bolts because I couldn’t get it to match the subframe perfectly but it’s no big deal.
I’ve not seen any other make sump guards fitted to clips. Only the pms or diy ones. I think omp do...
So fitted the cheap eBay wing mirrors. I ended up damaging one whilst I put it on nothing a bit of cheap carbon wrap couldn’t hide. I’m probably going to rip them off on the first chicane anyway
Whilst the wrap was out I decided to wrap the door bars on the cage
Bolted in the wheel brace...
But if you’ve got the old style logbook and not passport you don’t need to change anything until it runs out. Only thing at the minute you need is fire extinguishers that are in date and artifices. The new roll cage rules won’t apply until you get the new passport when your logbook runs out.
No nothing mate. I’ve heard that rumour too about bias valve going under the bonnet but I don’t see that ever coming in. Every rally car I know has a bias valve inside the car
I was planing on doing a bit on the car this weekend but all I did was try the 2118’s on and take it for a little blast.
The more the car sits on the drive and does nothing the worse the car drives. The dreaded bump steer is back, maybe because the tracking has been knocked out again but on...
I’ve been using these in my Clio for a good few months now.
Amazing pads and I wouldn’t buy any others apart from these. You have zero brake fade at all.
I’ve taken a few lads out in my car around three sisters and Anglesey and they both commented on how good the brakes are.
And who ever...
The car is getting msa logbooked tomorrow finally. Hopefully everything is ok.
I’ve bought a composite spare wheel holder. Not sure if I’m going to use yet, but I might bolt it in over the 172 wheel well. I won it on eBay for not a lot so I’ll sell it if I don’t end up using it.
I’ve also...
Yeah I’ve ran different front to rear at Anglesey because I could get any heat in the rear. Soft hankook rally tyres on the front. Michelin p2g wets in the back because that’s the only thing that could get up to temp
I did go through 2 tyres yesterday but it was my own fault. I had hankooks that had been cut for wets and I didn’t bother changing them when it dried out. The front tyres were gone in this video.
Wasn’t to bad on the brakes but I wouldn’t do it on track suspension. The bilsteins were pretty...
So I was at Anglesey rally track day yesterday. Car was superb all day, only issue I had was the fuel line popping off mid hairpin but nothing some cable ties couldn’t sort out.
There was a couple of clios there. A white 197 that I’ve seen there before and a blue 182 that a pass at the end on...
I’ve seen some that are slotted and others that aren’t. I’ve set it to max camber at the minute at Anglesey next week so I’ll have a play round with it there. When I had it on track I had a similar camber setting and it handled well.
Little update today.
Fitted some camber bolts due to the bilsteins not having a slotted hole for camber.
Rear part of the roll cage has been refitted with new spreader plates. I've also painted the rear of the car and spare wheel well.
New discs and bearings ordered for the rear that will be...
So today I passed me BARS rally test for my nat B rally licence. I went to Phil Price rally school in mid Wales. Test is pretty easy. He goes through everything with you before the test. Practical wasn't as long as usual because of the snow but at least that's out the way.
The clio still isn't...
Cheers mate.
Mine are slightly bodged. And I do want to change the screws I have.
I think I used 25mm screws. But in the middle of the window I've got the screw, screwed into a 5mm packer that's pushed against the poly.
Ideally you need a few different lengths or use rivnuts.
I know someone with a homologated mk2 escort. It doesn't have the added bar down the A piler and he's refusing to add the bar in as it will ruin the authenticity of the car
The car is finally finished to get msa log booked.
Electric cut off and switches all wired in this week
Me and my brother took the cars to three sisters in Wigan for a blast yesterday.
We both killed a set of tyres. My brother had a blow out on the fastest bend and put his into the tyre...
