Surprisingly decent sized single. Never had power and looking to move this year so unlikely to bother now. New gaff will have either a double or enough room for a big shed to put anything non-car related shite away from the motor.
I used a small angle bracket and jubilee clip. Secured bracket to the brace that runs next to the battery and it holds it perfectly. Zero movement. My description is crap so I’ll try and dig out a photo.
Old manky exhaust be gone. Ktec on and happy. Picked this up from @Mbeau at the weekend and had it fitted today. Ended up going for a stealth tailpipe - wasn’t worried about chopping the bumper but couldn’t be doing with a 3” tailpipe sticking out. Bit of fiddling to get it fitting just right...
Garage Therapy wheel shampoo. Game changer. Seriously impressed with this stuff. No loss of suds or slickness which I’ve always had as I work around the car as the shampoo mixes with old tyre dressing and grime/brake dust.
Gyeon Tyre - don’t like the new pump dispenser at all but product...
It’s cool. Sexy ass and all that (car of course, can’t comment on your backside).
Daft question but where can I get a stealth tailpipe? eBay is full of Chinese junk or DTM 90’s throwback crap.
That’s what I have at the moment - it’s lasted less than 3 years and the rear silencer sits wrong. May have been the fitting (friend of a friend whose enthusiasm exceeded his skill level).
Cheers. Mixed reviews on these generally and I want a stealth tailpipe. I’m going to look at custom made too as there’s a couple of places locally. Suspect that’ll be a lot more money.
Maybe Ktec is the simplest solution!
I have a ECP pattern centre and rear section and they’re both past it. Rattle a lot and back box doesn’t sit right - never has.
I don’t want to spend a fortune and even the pattern parts seem to have rocketed. Before I “have to” bite the bullet on a PMS or Ktec, or even something custom made...
Thanks chap. I guess the difficulty is that under the obsessive polishing, it’s an iceberg 172 with 125k on the clock. I’d just about be able to recreate it for £4k if the worst happened and once the chassis and engine bay are done I’ll get it revalued.
KTec valuation came through - £4,000. Happy with that and agreed value now locked in.
KTec carbon splitter fitted today - really happy with that. Next job is to start refurbishing the various bits I’ve got sitting in the garage.
Polite way of telling me that it’s a bit s**t 😂 to be fair the chassis and bay aren’t as good as the rest of the car.
- Beam has a lot of surface grot
- Slight play in OS lower arm
- Oil leaks from sump gasket and gear selector
- Cup spoiler stop light doesn’t work
I have a spare beam...
Headed to K-Tec yesterday for the car to be assessed and valued for my insurer.
Had a nose around some of the cars they had including a 172 Cup which I’d love to have a play with 😳
Assessment is that it needs a refresh underneath which I knew already - waiting on their valuation.
Great drive...
Great project. Dug these out from the Silverstone Classic 2012. First time the touring cars ran at the event from memory and the colleague I was with couldn’t understand why I got so excited over a Laguna.
I felt a jerk and as I looked down the hose pulled free. To be fair it hit me in the b****cks first and soaked my shorts before I grabbed it.
The entire connector has failed - I’m sure something pinged off but can’t find anything on the drive.
Debating whether to replace or stick with my...
