so if you got a sunstrip thats being hit by the standard wiper, is there a shorter version of this that would fit a Phase 1 172?
Say 16inch?

Youve certainly got to do it at least once.
Its a great circuit for powerful cars- its fabulous.
Just little old (2001 mine) Clios with high mileage- not so good
Did Silverstone in my Mk 7 Golf R. Fab, passed everything other than an RS4 who lapped me right at the end
almost hit a BMW who spun out on a corner about 30 foot in front of me- prompted me to get my Clio, and retire the Golf from Tracktime
Took Clio round Silverstone at the TRAX show last...
other than the dash i have most of the internal parts of the car in the loft if you are interested
bench seats, front seats, side covers, isofix bar etc etc
the seat runner bolts have been cut- the awkward "under the exhaust" ones
Yes, many go for the old crocks and they are nice to look and listen too, wheras i prefer the bang up to date new stuff. some so new it doesnt event get built (VW R400)
Edit- Tickets for the Thursday for me n the Mrs have been bought :-)
might even be looking for a new motor at the show...
Ive been to this a few times before- great stalls and lots of them, and quite a few of the major manufacturers in attendance with their top models
A bit of racing up the hill, access to some of the buildings, bit pricey on the food and drink front though
Came home with a multi folding aluminium...
Got a bottom fixing bucket seat for passenger side, and tried to fit it to a sub frame

Half done- then can give people a lift...
Paintwork on my Iceberg 2000 Clio 172 is pretty grim, so covered some of it up with a full decal set, (Blue) but theres still a lot of thin paint showing.
I have the belts et al to do mid 2018, but also thinking of plastidipping the car.
Wanted to use a colour that's pretty rare or even unused...
Bought my 172 for £550- and love it. 83k miles.
Spent £1500 on tyres, wheels, brakes, engine bits, roll cage, stickers (To cover the paint) a few repairs and oil changes, sub frames, bucket seats new, new battery, ICV, Throttle body etc etc- the hobby continues :-)
Track car, being used to help...
my Cat has been changed a few year back, as was damaged- so not it isnt OEM anyway. But wasnt OEM on Phase 1 172's a twin barrell affair?
Would like to find out what mine is, and whether changing to a 200cspi would be a benefit. No markings on the Cat
does it say Cambelt and dephaser done in 2013 so not needed yet?
Would suggest it needs doing in 2018, thats this year, so thats a fair amount of cash.
Have a Ramair myself, and wash/oil it up once a year
Its currently sitting in the space in front of the battery behind the headlight, on an "S" bend type set up
Wondering if shortening it to just a right angle out from the throttle boby, altho that will leave it centralish of the engine bay with...
Rechecked mine- and yep, still idling 500rpm when warm, only very odd twitch and engine note sounds pretty good
On start up its about 900 to be fair, which i hadnt noticed
Switched back to V-Power, and replace the fuel filter and leave it at that
Plugs in the summer
It is pretty quick, and am...
looks worth a look to me- maybe say "get the alternator fixed and i will consider the Grand"
88k is fair mileage
MOT is looming, and love to know what the map has achieved
Gearbox needs considering
Will have to hook up on track sometime. I am planning Castle combe on 7th April, Lydden May 7th , FCS July, Blyton Aug 25th, and a couple designated full days at Brands and Lydden, so far.
