Thanks :D
The williams wasn't good enough for how much extra it would've cost me to insure when I bought it, plus I've made this car my own & unique now, you can't really do that with a williams imo
Well if you're a bit of a homo that likes posing & putting mens penis' in your mouth go for the looks option, if you're a fan of driving properly make it reliably faster with a better engine
Don't forget that 172 jc5 boxes also have the same circlip until the later ones & 18poo's that had the bolt in jobber
I'd love to buy this car if it didn't have that god awful disgusting 2 litre thing in there :rasp:
Meh, williams lump is over rated :rasp: can pick up an F7P dirt cheap and rebuild it for the same price or near enough as buying an old & tired F7R and it'll be better ;)
I'd say raise the front & get the rear lowered to match, pretty easy to do & will improve the handling a lot, you adjust the torsion bar to lower the back.
Next, you want to go out & buy a valver engine, rebuild it & fit it, then you'll have a permanent 137 bhp on tap without pissing about with...
No more or no less reliable than any other french car tbh, you'll be fine with that one. Mine has been my daily driver for nearly 3 years now (ok it's a valver but they're pretty much the same) only times it's ever let me down on 2 occasions with snapped clutch cables  so don't worry about...
There's a guy on williamsclio who took his williams out there, fasterthanjesus is his username, he might have some helpful information for you. Not sure if he's on here though
It also got damaged on the way over too
You'll be amazed at just how much car related stuff you can fit into the back of a clio & equally baffled by some of the things you can't fit in them, I managed to squeeze 2 double mattresses in the back of mine
Here's a few pics from someone I know on a volvo forum that done a day at Snetterton, couple of ph1's, a black vee & a couple of cup racers by the looks of it
anyone off here? http://s830.photobucket.com/albums/zz222/blackbeast14/Snetterton%2014th%20Oct%202010/?albumview=slideshow
Come to think of it, when did Renault finally admit there was a problem with the bonnet catches? I'm thinking that might have something to do with it being written off, if the damage & resulting claim happened before Renault admitted the problem existed & done the recall, it was easier for them...
I'm guessing it was just a case of laziness on the insurance companies part perhaps? Quicker & easier to sort by writing it off instead of getting it fixed by them?
Have you had it on track yet Dave?
I started to feel the same about mine last year, thought about getting a trophy, had a meggy 225 for a bit, then went straight back to my valver & since I had it on track for the 1st time I'm so glad I stuck with it.
You need to learn to drive it properly on a...
Surely saving up to get it fixed will be a shitload cheaper than saving up to buy a completely different car?
Get your hands dirty & learn to sort it yourself, it will make you appreciate the car a hell of a lot more too ;) It's in situations like this where it really pays off to be part of a...
Project title fail! :o Well overdue an update
Now since all those fun & games, I added a few more goodies in preparation for my 1st ever track day at Castle Combe
I fitted some bucket seats, 3 point harnesses, 13 row oil cooler & some used R888's
Now the latest with the...
Ragging it from cold will increase the wear on the engine as the oil isn't able to do it's job properly until it gets to a certain temperature.
I don't rag mine until I can see that the oil has got into it's optimum temperature range, oil gauges as standard on a Mk1 ftw ;)
Plenty about for sale, where are you from & what's your budget?
Might be a better idea to look on www.clio16valver.co.uk for more relevant info & what's for sale than on here ;)
