Another, better late than never update.
had a week off from the car after the Bedford trackday, but cracked on with a few bits again over the past few days, mainly removing the sound deadening, what a horrid task.
Followed by the heater box to remove all of the aircon parts, and then foud...
Although you have saved weight, you have certainly added a little back in again.
atleast the weight is now there for a reason and better positioned.
im very curious at how yours comes out, mine is pretty similar.
Len, I've got to ask buddy, how is the to half of the dash held in place?
would...
I'm aiming for it to, I have everything exposed that I'm aiming to remove.
if I'm honest, I was happy to pay an auto electrician a couple of hours to do it all so I don't screw it up, I can see me cursing horrendously and threatening the car with a large heavy object if i cause an issue with...
That's good to know Len, I had a good ol' look at my airbag loom today and its winding me up aswell, I don't just want to tuck it all up behind the dash as I'd retire remove it.
have you actually driven the car to see if everything else is functioning correctly rather than just starting it up...
Chris Powell (Carbon Central) is spot on, you certainly won't go wrong with him Martin.
i will happily vouch for him if you are unsure.
if you wanted to see the quality of his work, the dash trims in the trophy were gone by Chris way back before he even became a trader on here.
Adam, got the box out today, bit of fun locating all of the securing bolts but got there in the end.
the black blanking plate from a cup, is that for the hole on the bulkhead in my picture?
James, dropping back a little through your thread.
your seat mount bars, did you source them from Motorsport tools by any chance?
ive just ordered a set from them, but handy to know they are a suitable length if you have gone for them aswell.
cheers.
The heat that builds up around a drilled hole on a disc, as the disc expands and retracts its this that slowly stars to distort and crack the area around these drilled holes.
personally, I wouldn't bother with drilled, it doesn't add any additional cooling, but I am all for grooved discs as...
What's gd?
If for sitting in, then yes.
depends what your requirements are, if they suit a mounting method that you can utilise.
do you need to buy new seats?
A bonnet is one of the easier things to adjust and to get perfect.
it does now start to worry me that of they could not put in the time to get that right, then what else may have been scrimped on to get it back on the road.
Exactly that.
unless you look then you will never know.
if you don't have other pressing arrangements and you can spare the time then go with an open mind.
as said, you can always walk away if you smell a rat, nothing forcing your friend to buy it.
sunday afternoon fun road trip, we waste time...
Not the greatest advert.
just check the reasoning for it being on a cat D, that all the paperwork matches up, sufficient proof that its been repaired properly.
go over it with a fine tooth Combe, be a bit anal with your check, as its hard to change your mind once you have bought it.
that being...
I'd like to remove them if possible.
i have no airbags in the car anymore, no set pretentioners etc etc, so the side impact bits are pretty pointless on there own now.
tbh, any wiring across the floor that's not needed I'd like to remove, but I can forsee further problems if I just literally...
What's the budget?
i could advise you on some nice bits, but depends if you really want to blow close on £2000 for suspension?
an ideal starting point would be to renew all bushes, mounts, steering arms and end joints etc.
All in motion Mark, its getting there, lots of other bits on the go aswell :)
baby scan at the hospital today, so a day off from the garage.
im not so worried about fitting them, more that I can see me moving on to the stripping of more material in each panel.
