Haven't heard of much going wrong with them just check usual panels as they do seem a bit thin. Take it out for a drive and don't worry about the harsh ride that is normal for a 100HP and can be changed for about £400 which is what I have done.
Without the sport button on the steering is very light and does give you a vague feedback. Press the Sport button and the steering is heavier and more direct. I don't find it to be a problem and it compares well with the 197 for it's steering. It certainly handles well and responds quickly to...
For my annual Father's Day treat my son treated me to entry to the above show. It was great driving in with him in the Beetle and me in my Elf. Attendance was down on previous years but there were still some amazing cars there. This year also hosted a Custom Bike show which proved that this...
Great meet tonight and thanks Chip for the ride in the Turbo, it was amazing and not as frightening as I imagined although the acceleration was stunning.
I went from a 182 to a 197 and spent the first six months regretting it. True the 197 is a more refined car but just didn't feel as fast as the 182. I then fell in love with the 197 secured handling and driving position. I did fall out of love with the fuel consumption though.
For those of you interested in attending Simply French at Beaulieu just a few pics of the exhibits. If you are a Bond nut the new Bond experience will be amazing for you. Top Gear is always good but requires queuing and there is always the House and Monastery.

Today I have been mostly in a field of Minis. Having got the Elf through it's MOT it was great to spend four hours cleaning and polishing it only for it to p**s down all day. Never mind it did stop at lunch time for a couple of hours so I was able to take a few pics.
Yes that is a...
Steve, sorry if I've taken your title. Have spent all of today with Mini Coopers and old men. Even met someone called Paddy Hopkirk who used to make roof racks and I think rallied Minis when I was a boy.
As for you Tim show some respect to your elders :butt:
Cheers Lawrence looks like you're...
Cheers for all the positive comments.
The shocks are Koni STR.T which fit all Pandas and the springs are Spax specific to the 100HP. Lowers it by 25mm.
Finally springs & shocks are on. Went for a lap of the Fletch ring to bed them in. What a giggle. The ride is planted, much more comfortable than standard and gone is the understeer around roundabouts, although the tyres were screaming in protest. Had a great laugh and stopped for some pics.
Went along to this today with the usual suspects. Was great to chat and glad the rain held off.

Finally the springs have arrived.
Now to get them fitted.
Also had confirmation that the exhaust should be here next week.
Now only waiting for the gear knob.
Never moan about K-Tec delivery times again.
I think this is the first one Beaulieu have done so can only judge on previous shows attended.
Mini Cooper Day - A field full pf all types of Minis, Good club day out, great trade stands and a great day out to talk to fellow enthusiasts.
Hot Rod & Custom Show - Huge mix of American and classic...
Bloody typical, clean the car and it rains. Looks like another wet one. Knew I should have bought a Union Jack umbrella and not a hat today. See you between 7.30 and 7.45 at Tescos.
There's nothing wrong with silver Clio owners parking skills, it's the only way to stand out nowadays with a Silver car. Looks like a good meet shame I couldn't make it.
Stunning pics as usual Andy. Glad to see that you are actually out driving the Trophy after all you've been through with that car. Hope all was fine with it afterwards,
Excellent write up and great result. Interesting to see that a second place is a disappointment which shows the great progress you and the car have made.
+1 for me. Since I have been driving I like to make a car mine by adding my own touch no matter how subtle. Being a serial modder for 37 years now I have tried most modding/customising trends and the worst time of my life was when I had a company car that I could not touch. There's just some...
