@leeds_182 Jim I hate to tell you this but believe it or not there is actually a bigger old Volvo fan than you living near me. The reason I know this is because he brings one of these f*****s out every so often! It's f**king huge lol. I'll try and get a pic sometime.
Most of the time he...
I saw a mint looking red Maestro MG turbo like this on my way home today. Must be over 25 years since I used to see a green one the dad of someone I knew had. They were rapid (in a straight line) back in the day lol.
Just been and given it a quick wash and tbh it still passes the 10 foot test alright apart from the bumper damage.:ROFLMAO::unsure:. Am I being stupid swapping???
Totally get your point tbh. I used that vcheck thing on here that does better checks on history and it was clear.
As for mine I'd say I got it patched up so it's roadworthy enough to pass the mot.
It could still do with a new boot lid, bumper and ideally boot floor, then spraying up because...
Aaahhhhhh, you lot making me doubt my desision. Its been totally doing my head in all this thinking ?.
And if I change my mind I'll probably loose a £200 deposit
I had every intention to chuck a few grand at this car this year. Sorting out a few issues with the paint work, getting the belts done and refreshing the suspension (not that there's anything wrong with it as such), wheel refurb etc. You know just making it all fresh again and good for another 5...
Have to agree there. Gutted it's come to this tbh.
Someone will get a bargain! Here's a of pic I've taken of the paper work I have for it ready for the advert. Almost everything apart from bits and bobs I bought off here...
Getting another one. I still like them and am happy to roll around in another for a few more years yet. With that in mind I don't want to be spending too much money on this one now it's a cat S :(. It still drives perfectly well but feel it'd be better for someone to be using on track or as a...
Just a heads up for anyone that might want this car. I've seen another I want and will be buying so this is for sale now. I got it fixed up well enough to get through it's mot and it drives fine with just the cosmetic damage. It'd make an ideal track toy/project for someone.
I'll put up an add...
Yeah let my local garage do it. It could be better but for what I paid it'll do. That way I'll have more to put towards another mint one then sell this one for someone to use as a track car or just a cheap hack...
Hi, as per tittle has anyone heard of Wayne Masseys Automotive Solutions?
I've found a new Clio that I like the look of and the seller is saying someone called Wayne Massey in Stoke on Trent did the belts and map.
I've never heard of him but looking at his facebook page it looks like he works...
It's only a gimmick on cheaper stuff, much like cheap sound bars proclaiming to give you the sense of 5.1. With the right kit it's definitely better no question.
I won't be using it for track I don't think. But at least I won't have to worry as much about where/what I park it next to and I'll be able to just chuck my mountain bike in it etc without having to care so much...
My mind keeps changing daily on this. So annoying whats happened!
Today after reading some of the above posts I'm thinking now to get it repaired and run it though I'm not sure I'll bother with the belts Jan. Then if a mint car pops up over the next 12 months I can snap it up and then sell...
Well I'm in the same boat as you now ??.
I'll have probably up to 5k, 5.5 at a push. Could go FN2, R26 etc or just find another nice 182 which I'm leaning towards at the moment because well I know what I'm looking for in them so it's not too difficult. Plus they're probs the cheapest to run...
Yeah it does take the shine off. I'm leaning towards letting it go and moving on with another at the moment but tomorrows another day and I might change my mind again lol.
If anyone has a good example for sale then feel free to try and sway my decision(y).
So the car has been classed as a Cat S write off today :(.
I'll be buying the car back but I'm unsure on what to do after that.
I could get it it back on the road myself and keep running it. The only issue is that it'll be forever be a Cat S now and I'm not sure I want to be chucking loads of...
