Maybe he's not very clued up on the MOT system and didn't want to look stupid so said it wasn't listed? The F4R should be listed as it's fitted to a fair few Renault's but as long as you got a pass and walked away happy - thats all that matters for another year! :)
Is it going to be used on the road? Or track?
Either way, I'd say the standard rear brake set up is more than good enough as it really doesn't do too much. What's your front brake set up?
As echoed above really, personally I'd recommend going for the best 172/182 your budget can get you. They are raw enough to be enjoyable, yet have creature comforts to make them a decent daily option. And a tidy 1*2 is going to be worth more in the future than a tired 197/Megane would for the...
The heavy clutch and high biting point is standard and as long as it doesn’t slip or kangaroo away it’s nothing to worry about.
Has the car been sitting? Was it started from stone cold for the video?
Thanks bud, will be ordering some this week I think. Yeah it is indeed your picture, it's only after I posted the link from google that I realised lol 😂
I'm going to get the Renault centre bore/hub caps that they sell and spray them I think, not seen anything else but if there's a better option I'm keen to learn ;)
Small update...
Painted my door bullets for the time being until I can find some smooth ones, think they look a lot better and help break up the solid yellow on the sides a little.
Rubbed them down with a fine grade, then used alcohol wipe to ensure there was no silicone or anything that might...
Could be lambda related... On cold starts it's not actually using the lambda reading, so the ECU is controlling the fueling etc from the map, rather than live data.
I'd check the wiring on the lambda sensors, and the earth (might be ecu earth pin) isn't damaged and check all your other main...
Many said my Clio was over priced when I bought it... There is someone out there for every car, and someone who wants a LY R26 F1 with low mileage that has been owned by an enthusiast who's cared for it and is a car that they can keep for years to come not just use for a few months and flog on...
What about a darker or lighter grey to the wheels, keeping it very subtle but still eye catching to those who are into cars? That would work well IMO...
I used to live in Surbiton, however I’m now down in Devon so a little bit further away lol.
You’ll get a decent example for your budget, just drive a few and buy the one that feels best with the best maintenance I’d say rather than the most modifications etc. Great cars, I keep coming back and...
It was dirty today... However I've spent the past 3 hours washing, claying, prepping the paintwork and about to finish it off with a nice coat of wax. ;)
I'll try to get some tomorrow as it's dark now, if a rear wiper doesn't bother you and you use it, then I wouldn't bother but my past 6 cars have all been de-wipered so the Clio naturally got the same treatment lol.
Here you go bud...

This evening I fitted my private plates to the car as the paperwork came through from the old car, and also fitted my flush fit rear wiper delete that I bought from a guy off facebook (although he's now selling them on eBay if anyone wants one). Fitting was a little fiddly as I accidentally...
Well today my Whiteline rear ARB arrived so I fitted that, haven't really tested it out yet but it seems a decent bit of kit. Simple, but should add to the stiff Cup shocks and Cooksport springs and uprated bushes already on the car. Didn't take any photos of the ARB fitted to the car, as it was...
March 25th @ 8:30am
Cardinals Hatt, Saltash PL12 6PJ.
Our first area meet of the new year, so hopefully as many of you guys and girls can attend as possible.
We are going to start off by meeting at The Cardinals Hatt in Saltash for an unlimited cooked breakfast, a chance for everyone to meet...
Thanks for the welcome Ron, (you wrote South East area though lol). 🙈:tonguewink:
We will be starting monthly meets, and we already have our first meet arranged which I will post details up on the group on a separate post.
Any feedback and input greatly appreciated, as ultimately the...
To be fair my suggestion of an engine mount being worn/damaged was unlikely but thought I'd mention it just in case. Usually you'd notice an engine mount also under heavy acceleration and when pulling away quickly.
Any flat spotting on the tyres? Have any off track moments into gravel?
Does the car behave normally at speed on the straights or is the vibration there a little too?
Could be a build up of hot rubber putting the wheels out of balance, could be an engine mount or could simply be that you've...
